Trump is undoubtedly dismayed by the huge turnout in early voting in Nevada and Tennessee. One can only assume that he doesn’t figure this surge is for the purpose of reelecting Republicans, and so he’s already begun efforts to discredit the voting process, and ipso facto the election results. Columnist and Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman makes this prediction:
Democrats will gain subpoena power — but expect the Trump administration to simply defy requests for information, the way they already are on issues like the Mar a Lago crowd's influence on the Veterans Administration 2/ https://t.co/4xQBKAA22t

In the very near future, many government officials will probably face hard decisions about whether to defy illegal orders from their political superiors. And remember, this is the good scenario 4/

You probably remember Trump saying during the 2016 campaign that he “wasn’t sure” about accepting election results — until he won. Then the process was the most bona fide, sterling, blue chip way to go ever conceived. He’s starting to make the same noise now about fraud and Krugman is right, it’s only going to get worse. Trump has only blithely sailed along this far in his idiocy and dysfunction because the Republicans have a unified government. When that is no longer the case and government oversight becomes a reality again, Trump’s going to find himself starring in a very different show, one that he’s totally unprepared for.
And don’t forget, Robert Mueller is still out there. Mueller has been silent in deference to the midterm election, but after that, who knows what will be revealed. Hang onto your hat, this ride is going to get wild.
