For all the vast masses NOT clamoring to see Melania (the movie) we’re about to be treated with what Yankee catcher Yogi Barra called “deja vu all over again. Vast masses NOT clamoring to see ‘Melania – The Sequel.’ Waking up and browsing the news only to see this godawful news I’m reminded of the weird dreams I’m having lately. Weird enough I worry about nightmares of being Alex in A Clockwork Orange with his eyes held open by metal prongs forcing him to watch the psychological programing material on a movie screen – with NO eyedrops. Having this done to force me watching Melania truly is nightmarish.
Well, in real awake life I’m comforted knowing I won’t have to dig out my old Marine K-Bar from my seabag of gear and gouge my eyes out. I can, as with the epic flop of the original Melania ‘documentary’ simply not watch it. I have about as much interest in seeing either the original or the sequel, work on which Netflix Junkie tells us is already in the works as I do in seeing old nekkid pics of ‘Melanie’ from back when she was a “Model.” As in zero. NONE. For masochists however we now know there will be not just a sequel showing us more of what almost no one wants to see, but a docuseries!
The theatrical release of Melania flirted with disaster: $16.1 million against a $75 million budget screams underwhelming. Yet producers are already plotting the sequel, proving the story refuses to be boxed by dollars.
Marc Beckman confirmed to Variety that a docuseries chronicling Melania Trump is in post-production for a mid-summer 2026 launch on Amazon Prime Video. The upcoming docuseries will dive deeper into Melania Trump’s life beyond the twenty days leading to the 2025 inauguration. Unlike the feature’s flashy visuals, curated soundtrack, and Michael Jackson-to-Rolling-Stones beats, Amazon Prime Video’s installment gives space for real storytelling.
I shudder to think of what Jeff Bezos is trying to get from Trump that he’s going to flush millions MORE down the financial toilet to curry favor with Trump. Maybe keeping his name redacted in the Epstein Files. Or, Amazon taking the place of the U.S. Postal Service perhaps? Now that latter one would be quite the contract for Bezos to score! In any case, the plan was to screen the Melania movie in actual theaters for a while and in a few months stream it on Amazon. As noted, the theatrical release has been underwhelming. A FLOP. It’s predicted to flop when it moves to streaming but Bezos seems to not care how much money he’s losing. We can now NOT look forward to a 3-part docuseries, with (cough cough) new material no one cares about or wants to see:

Previously unseen footage reveals family life, business ventures, and philanthropy in ways the hour-and-44-minute film could not. Marc Beckman told Variety the series stands alone while delivering continuity and fresh revelations. Melania got an 11% Rotten Tomatoes score, while 98% of actual viewers cheered, showing attention can outlive box office numbers.
If that isn’t enough to NOT look forward to Beckman also says the docuseries won’t just explore Melania private life with unseen footage. Attention will also be given to Donald Trump himself – apparently because as the linked article tells us Donald Epstein Trump’s public commentary continues to shape how audiences perceive the film’s impact. Speaking for myself, I don’t need The Donald’s bullshit hyping of this impending flop to know it will be a vapid, boring and unwatchable piece of crap. Just like the title character – and character is the proper description of Melania. As Trophy Wife #3 she’s never been anything but a bit player in the proverbial “Trump Story.” She’s playacted as wife, mother and First Lady and let’s just say the critic’s reviews speak for themselves. Her performance has sucked since day one.
I’m sorry to start your day off with this. However tonight we will see Trump standing at the podium in the House chamber delivering the SOTUS live to a national and international audience. Presidents always take a moment to point to their spouse so they can stand up and get their own round of applause. Sometimes it’s kind of nice, and sometimes not so much. With Melania Trump it’s always been the latter. My point is that you KNOW he’s going to do so after making ghastly remarks about how awesome the Melania movie is, complete with lies about billions of people having watched it. THEN he will hawk the upcoming sequel, all while praising ‘Melania’ as the greatest movie star in history.
I’m simply telling you all this to provide a public service to anyone who plans to watch tonight’s SOTU. Now that you know what’s coming you can puke your guts out before the speech starts, and only dry-heave (it’s not fun cleaning projectile vomit from TV screens!) when this godawful moment in the speech is inflicted upon the people in the House Chamber (who might themselves vomit, causing a puke-o-rama like portrayed in Rob Reiner’s movie Stand By Me) and TV viewers around the world. You’re welcome btw.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

This might be one of those cases where the sequel won’t be worse than the original.
How could it be WORSE?
But then the Trumps have always found a way to make anything worse, before, haven’t they?
Things can ALWAYS get worse. I grew up playing sports and there was always someone who’d do or say a dumbass thing that pissed off the coach(s) who had all manner of ways to make all of us suffer. It’s a lesson relearned during life, whether my time in the Marines or in civilian life when working for certain bosses. So yes, the Melania steaming pile of crap can be worse. Given movie sequels usually don’t live up to the original odds are regrettably good that people who are forced to watch if only to review/report on it will report (after the blood stops pouring from their eyes) that yes, it’s worse.
Oh, my, Denis, you were in rare form with this one! If anyone asks me to watch that piece of drivel, I will run screaming for the hills!
I’ll have to leave it up to others to comment on the SOTU. I hate Trump’s voice so much that I wouldn’t even make it through a single sentence. I can’t even describe it. I know I *should* watch it, but I just can’t. Doesn’t say much for me as a political writer. Oops.
Oops again. Drivel meaning the Melania ‘movie’.
If you were worried that somebody would think that you were describing the opinion by Denis as “drivel,” please know that logic and grammar both indicated that you were referring to the sequel to “Melania.” Best wishes, Susan.
Could be a tax write-off for Bezos if he has taxable capital gains, which he undoubtedly does. He could either pay a capital gains tax to the government or invest in the Melania project, knowing full well it would generate an off-setting capital loss. At the end of the year a nice tax slip would arrive in the mail, and who knows, a quid pro quo from you-know-who might also materialize to magically reduce his taxes in other ways.
Epstein may have been in this racket too. He probably knew dozens of real estate investors who had realized large taxable capital gains. They could invest in one of his funds, which he probably drew down with lavish management fees and expenses to reliably produce capital losses they could claim. For them it would have been better than paying the IRS, who didn’t offer the rewards program.
With all the emphasis on the trafficking and sex scandals in the Epstein files, little attention has been given to the financial side of his business. Did the FBI actually follow the money and do they have the results of their investigations on file, or were they waved off by some very power people? Maybe we’ll find out. It’s a hydra.
Can’t wait for the SOTU tonight! I’m sure that the President will knock it out of the park. I mean, how could he not when all he has to do is show the contrast between the successes of the current administration vs the disaster that was biden’s.
If you’re not interested in watching tonight or seeing the First lady’s documentary maybe you could tune into c-span to get some ideas for a piece for tomorrow! Hahahahahaha

Skidmark has now reached the level of self parody.
Well done Mark!!, we knew you’d get there some day.
Your comment was not interesting or intelligent until I got to the end. You signed your comment, “dolt.” I have seldom seen such self-awareness. I compliment you on your brutal honesty. Have a good day, Mark.
