Color me skeptical on this one folks, but it is liable to be a big story in the coming days, so I’m gonna give a heads up…
The Telegraph

“Iran is plotting to kill or capture Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo, his former secretary of state, according to a leaked US government intelligence report.

The sensational claim came from the latest National Counterterrorism Centre report, which says that actions could be taken to avenge the death of Major General Qassim Soleimani, an Iranian intelligence commander, in a drone strike two years ago.

“The Iranian regime is waging a multipronged campaign – including threats of lethal action, international legal manoeuvring, and the issuance of Iranian arrest warrants and sanctions – against select US officials to avenge the death of IRGC-QF Commander Soleimani in January 2020, raising the threat at home and abroad for those Iran views as responsible for the killing,” the report states, according to Yahoo News.”

Like I said up top, I’m going to take this story with an industrial size box of salt, because this is just the sort of cock-eyed scheme that Don Cornholeone would dream up with the likes of Sloppy Steve Bannon, Mike Flynn and whatever scumbag Allies they might still have left in Defense and Intelligence to take the heat off for a beat, and drum up sympathy for Traitor Tot and Pompeo.

And Iran has a lot to lose in trying to pull off something like this, any attempt on the life of an American President would be all the causus belli that neocons in D.C. and Israel need to finally have the war they have always wanted against Tehran.

Even more so than the Russian actions in Ukraine, an assassination attempt against Trump could be the trigger that sets first the Middle East and then the whole world aflame.

No one dislikes Trump more than I do, but still I fervently hope this is just a ploy meant to somehow extricate him from the political and legal headaches he has created for himself.

And if it is, I hope he is found out and this gambit backfires on him, as so many have before, and doesn’t escalate to war.

Tehran, if you are listening, let us deal with our bastard and when we are done with him perhaps you can have your court date with A-hole in The Hague.

I realize you have your own issues with the jerk, but don’t give the warpigs any reason to feast on your bones.

  1. Why do I have a nagging suspicion that ‘threat’ didn’t originate in Tehran but in Mar a Lago in an effort to get some support for the Cheater in Chief?

    • I have a feeling this one is going to backfire on him badly. He will get slapped upside the head with the fact that most of the U.S. positively loathes his ass and wish Iran would do us a solid. Which of course is why they are not even thinking of this.

  2. OK, let me get this straight. The rethugs are willing to take this “rumor” at face value, but the real story of a 10 y/o rape victim who had to cross state lines to get a life saving abortion was just “too fanciful” to be believed. While I am sure Iran would celebrate TFG’s demise, an assassination attempt would be foolhardy. Don’t they think we would retaliate? Do they want to be the architects of their own destruction? ‘Cause that would be the result.

    • I can see no reason for any retaliation if Iran were to take diaper don out. I should think that day would be declared a national holiday…In the U.S.

  3. Well, Turkey was willing to try kidnapping someone from America that they wanted to put on trial and execute. Iran might think on those lines.
But do remember to call him an EX-President.

  4. ummmm, if Iran wanted to hurt the U.S. they’d just leave those two dumb-fucks alone to stew in this country’s juices. It takes a minuscule amount of logic to reach this sensible conclusion. No, “intelligence” had nothing to do with this one, it stinks of don’s diapers and nothing else.

  5. Wiki notes that “‘The Daily Telegraph’ is politically conservative and has endorsed the Conservative Party at every UK general election since 1945.” Also, that it “was fined £30,000 in 2015 for ‘sending an unsolicited email to hundreds of thousands of its subscribers, urging them to vote for the Conservatives.'”

Additionally, “In 2019, former columnist Graham Norton, who had left the paper in late 2018, said ‘about a year before I left, it took a turn’ and criticised it for ‘toxic’ political stances, namely for a piece defending US Supreme Court then-nominee Brett Kavanaugh and for being ‘a mouthpiece for [former “Telegraph” columnist] Boris Johnson’ whose columns were allegedly published with ‘no fact-checking at all’.”

So, yeah. I think this report should be taken with, not a grain of salt, but a whole salt lick that would fill the Grand Canyon.

    • I’m sure that’s right but I do enjoy their “Ukraine: The Latest” podcast. Very informative. And, I said “a box” of salt. That’s a lot of salt.

  6. Maybe they’re still pissed over the coup the CIA engineered to overthrow their prime minister in 1953 cuz great Britain & the US didn’t want to lose control of their oil. We put the Shah in power ending their democratically elected leader. Unintended consequences when you do evil & call it good. U know…like the genocide of native Americans to take their land, resources, & children. Like kidnapping & enslaving 4million black folks who still get shot for broken tail lights. NO JUSTICE. NO TRUTH. NO FREEDOM. FACT.

  7. Counterterrorism? Thats a pile of money flushed down the toilet. If they add mitch and a couple of others to the list, i will donate.
