And boy, does she. Apparently, her brains are now leaking out of her body because of what she said, yikes! ‘There’s many a slip ‘twixt cup and lip’, because her cup was splashed on the floor before it got to her lips. She said something that confirmed what we’ve been thinking, and it is ugly. Let’s hope Trump approves what she said. With appreciation to Raw Story:
Kristi Noem set off a firestorm among political observers over the weekend by making a comment about voting that many said was “saying the quiet part out loud.” Noem, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, said during a press event Saturday, “When it gets to Election Day, we’ve been proactive to make sure that we have the right people voting, electing the right leaders to lead this country.” That comment about “the right people” voting immediately spread online, with ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl saying just one word: “Extraordinary.”
The right people are voting to choose the right leaders. Oh, she made a major fluff-up there. We had a feeling about this, and now it’s confirmed that yes, they are going to try to steal the midterm elections. Oh, joy. The only good thing is that now we ‘officially’ know and have time to prepare. It might have come out eventually, but she can’t put that cork back in the bottle.
The popular Ekklesia Network wrote simply, “They are saying the usually quiet part quite openly.” //// Sports analyst Ben Fowlkes chimed in, “If we let these people destroy our democracy, we won’t be able to say that we didn’t have plenty of advance warning.” //// Former Obama insider David Axelrod said, “THIS is why Noem will remain in place, despite her flagrant, corrupt mismanagement of the DHS, at least through the midterm elections.” He added that Trump “wants a loyal apparatchik in place who will do whatever is necessary to ensure ‘the right leaders’ win.”
Congrats to all the reporters who were able to recover quickly from that little bombshell. That one came out of nowhere. DHS has nothing to do with elections, until Trump tells them to. *Then* it’s *really* time to worry. People will have to protect one another if DHS personnel are sent to voting locations. If they have no control now, how much worse will they be in November? There are not enough “local” law enforcement to keep them out of the way, so we’d best all be prepared for it.
Camille MacKenzie, who identifies as a “constitutional conservative,” weighed in, “Elections are not a ‘critical infrastructure’ responsibility that Kristi Noem is in charge of. She’s outright making up lies about what DHS is responsible for. It’s outrageous that she even thinks that this is something she has any power over.” //// Ex-GOP congressman Joe Walsh was also outraged. “To make sure the ‘right people’ are voting? Who the f— are the ‘right people?'” he asked.
“And it’s not the government’s job to choose our leaders. It’s the American people’s job. I served in Congress with Kristi Noem. It’s not at all surprising to hear her spew this un-American s—.” //// Dem congressman Daniel Goldman said, “They’re not even trying to hide their intention to steal the election. We cannot give one more cent to DHS until Congress ensures our elections will be free and fair.”
Can Congress do that in such a way that we can breathe a little easier? Or should we prepare for DHS nutjobs? Inquiring minds want to know. We all *need* to know before Voting Day comes. Will Congress help? There’s no telling. Some of the Republican scaredy-cats will go along with whatever Trump says. But with luck, which we desperately need, some of the others will step across the aisle. In the meantime, we need to prepare. See you soon!

Sounds like they want to have DHS goons at polling sites, perhaps intimidating the “wrong” voters. I hope there’s such a backlash that these idiots cannot stop it.
Thank you! That is the main point I was trying to make. They’re trying to figure out a way for them to be there at voting locations, but at least they’ll have a hard time covering *everywhere*. I honestly don’t know what I’d do if one of those ruffians got in my face. I hope I would stand my ground. I’m already angry and there is very little chance I’ll be less angry by then. I’ll have my phone out, too.
