The entire subject of UFOs – now referenced as “UAPs” or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, is supposed to evoke laughter by serious people in any field but particularly scientists and politicians. Indeed, there was actually a time when U.S. intelligence worked to delegitimize the subject as “little green men,” near forcing respectable people to look down on those who might have questions. It was surely meant to stop anyone from asking the government anything about the subject, going so far as to even stop reporting sightings. And yet – especially of late, the entire subject has seen some powerful and serious people asking equally powerful and serious questions. And appropriately so, because our military continues to see inexplicable stuff during exercises. The very fact that the House held a hearing on UAPs yesterday speaks to the growing awareness of a real problem.
Before we get to the fact that this piece involves praise for Lauren Boebert for “going there,” it is probably best to set out “where” everyone is going. As NPR reports, people who have shockingly high credibility are saying some shocking things. Retired Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet testified:
“Confirmation that UAPs are interacting with humanity came for me in January 2015.”
Confirmation? Remember, the term UAP doesn’t mean “little green men” – it means that the military is seeing things it cannot explain and those “things” do things that our current understanding of physics says is impossible. So without regard to “where” they come from, it is incumbent to know whether this is a threat to aircraft or… us. As seen below, the things have been caught on fighter jet video and seen below in one of most famous sightings off the Southern Californian coast:
And another video from the East Coast off Virginia:
There were many more quotes from former government officials who unequivocally state that this is a real problem that deserves real attention. Lou Elizondo was the senior ranking official in the Defense Department’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, a secretive Pentagon unit that studied unidentified anomalous phenomena,” and was established by former Democratic Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid. Elizondo provided a short and to the point written statement. Consider this:
“Let me be clear: UAP are real. Advanced technologies not made by our Government — or any other government — are monitoring sensitive military installations around the globe. Furthermore, the U.S. is in possession of UAP technologies, as are some of our adversaries.”
Before you giggle further, the matter has been covered extensively by The New York Times, which reported in 2021:
Despite Pentagon statements that it disbanded a once-covert program to investigate unidentified flying objects, the effort remains underway — renamed and tucked inside the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Now, normally we never, ever, give up the chance to hurl ridicule on Rep. Lauren Boebert. But having seen all the above, is she crazy for asking the questions below… Or is it, you know – sort of brave? Per JoeMyGod:
“Are any of you familiar with that? Yes, or no? Are there any accounts of UAPs emerging from or submerging into our waters which could indicate a base or presence between the ocean’s surface?
“Are there any technological capabilities that have been observed in these oceanic UAPs to defy our current understanding of physics or human engineering capabilities? I will not relent until we get those answers to the American people.”
Now, if you are going to laugh at her, you have to also laugh at former Cmd. David Fravor – who, forewarning, is not the laughable type. He shot down planes over Iraq, led a squadron, and is sort of an all-around badass. He is also the one who first saw the “Tic-Tac” UAP filmed above and reported that he saw something else “strange” just under the water. So, laugh if you would like. Fravor will not be joining you:
It is just so painfully easy to mock everything about Lauren Boebert and we likely won’t even close out the week without yet another episode of the stupid. So on this one… Well, maybe she ought to be commended? It doesn’t appear that anyone else on that committee had the guts to ask what needed to be asked. Maybe I’m crazy. After all, I think these things are real… not necessarily a real UFO from a real other=worldly planet, just a real problem regarding a real threat that Congress really better investigate.
So let it start with her. She is crazy enough to be right.

My guess? Bobo The Clown effed up and hired a staffer that could come up with a couple of questions that should have been asked during that hearing. The paper that had them was slipped into her folder, and since others had beat her to asking the stupid stuff she was sorting through to find something new. With her room temperature IQ she didn’t realize they were actually legitimate questions. Not to worry. If people take notice as you have and start asking ‘why would SHE go posing worthy questions?’ the staffer in question will be looking for another job. And soon.
I saw an article about that. There’s a delicious irony in The Onion being the entity that now owns Infowars. Jones has got to be freaking the hell out. The article I read said The Onion is “deciding” what to do with their new toy. This could be fun!
I’m waiting for her to issue a statement saying the ETs were spotted wearing yarmulkas and firing space lasers
Seriously though. I worked on maintenance on the Early Warning radar chain back in the early 60s and we picked up a radar blip that covered about 400 miles in 30 seconds. Photographic evidence was sent to Air Ministry and we got the reel back with that section removed and were told “It never happened”
Yes, I laughed, too – except I realized that laughing meant I was telling former astronauts and fighter pilots that they don’t know what they’re talking about.

UAP’s are real. As was stated by Luis Elizondo on The Daily Show (the guy is in the know) we know they are there. But we don’t yet know their intent. Seems the UAP’s scout out electrical grids (world wide) military bases (world wide) etc. The intent is what concerns me – but I can’t do jack about it. https://www.amazon.com/Imminent-Inside-Pentagons-Hunt-UFOs/dp/B0D3FL1M3D/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1TAD754MYXEKH&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.iLc0pBvaOyJBu6GRrj8ineeLhcgdyQpWy76CYlNJae0x1CsKaJWYXAhAYUQiU_Y1ZuvcD8QvRhVPrAk9l0NGAmUU4_-nqyzuKXquV13U-hrfyYKFmyYnEjCKn_mq9fOWeUJlSDsnv0Rogkzkvs4nodZUNyIx77GazMUxMP7D5B-bDuAUgTD8FltoV79Fv78yU9y8C6h7ChVbeJamHlN165VANFryhIt2iqIbAmt12iY.rqOR2MWlAOHHyVp1U7_bwk55fwOCK85kp5xcmYr9AGw&dib_tag=se&keywords=uap+book&qid=1731608322&sprefix=uap+book%2Caps%2C212&sr=8-1
Boebert shouldn’t get a pass because of some decent questions. She wasn’t even a member of that committe. She came in plopped her butt down and requested she be given 5 minutes to ask questions. Her opening comments were sarcastic and she threw a political barb in that the 2020 election saw 81M votes ( Biden’s votes) insinuating the conspiracy theory that the election was rigged. None of the committee members took political pot shots indeed it was pointed out that they were all working in a bi-partisan fashion in holding that hearing.
I’m sure these intelligent questions were simply a blip in her behavior. Like Denis said, most likely won’t happen again.
The speed of light in a vacuum is 186,000 per second and can travel the earth 7.5 at the equator in that time. It still takes over 8 minutes to reach us from the sun. The next closest star is 4 years away at that speed. No organic lifeform can survive the G forces at that speed, which is considered slow in space. If some lifeforms existed and were capable if crossing the vastness of space, they would need some unknown physics. The second issue we all know well…if you happen to find you drove into a dangerous neighborhood, you wouldn’t exit the vehicle, and you would get the hell out of there hoping no one noticed. We are that neighborhood.
As far as boobbert goes…my grandma told me long ago that even a blind pig finds an acorn occasionally.
7.5 timed around the planet in one second
that’s just the thing. it would, initially, take physics we don’t know, but the behavior of these UAPs also involves stuff we don’t know. we can’t afford to be arrogant about our knowledge, we’ve been wrong on a regular basis.
but also, if a generation ship had arrived in our solar system long ago and established itself somewhere unobtrusive like the Oort cloud or among asteroids, it could send all the drones it wanted without the light-speed problem.
There’s also the possibility some beings aren’t self destructive AS US, and maybe they’ve been advanced for millions of years versus the short time we’ve even realized we aren’t the center of the universe. Anything’s possible. Stephen Hawkings proposed there are alternative universes.
proof of intelligent life elsewhere would be the most consequential discovery in human history. it would also suck a he’ll of a lot of power out of every government on earth. thus it would be protected at all costs. and this ain’t independence day where we just shot down the alien fighters. as Arthur Clarke said, any sufficiently advanced species would have technology so far beyond our own that it would appear to be magic. so someone is traveling an extraordinary distance just to tool around the earth and occasionally get shot down or just break down? prove it. of course there’s also the Douglas Adams theory that ufos are just rich alien teenagers in their sports car spaceships buzzing the earth for kicks.
They’re probably just hanging around waiting for the chaos to hit so they can just step in and take over after we’ve destroyed the planet, maybe without having a fight to do it.
