These people just do not have what it takes for federal prosecutors for Trump’s revenge tour. So far, any court cases they have brought before a judge have been thrown out. Trump is zero for zero. But he and Blondi keep trying. It becomes more and more obvious that they don’t have a leg to stand on. And they keep getting humiliated. Thank you, Raw Story:
President Donald Trump’s “attack dog” in the Department of Justice was demoted on Monday, a move that attracted mockery online. Ed Martin, a lawyer who attended Trump’s “Stop the Steal” protests before joining the administration, was demoted to pardon attorney for the administration after a slew of unsuccessful prosecutions against Trump’s political enemies, according to multiple reports. Martin is also expected to leave the Justice Department in the coming weeks, although it is unclear if his position will be eliminated or not.
My heart breaks for him. Maybe. Naah. Why don’t they look at what’s being asked before accepting a position and getting humiliated? Apparently, they’re just that dumb. And how these people got through law school, we’ll never know. Law isn’t exactly easy. It does require a brain. You can’t get by on looks alone. There are other methods, but I’m not feeling mean right now.
Martin has led Trump’s “Weaponization of Government” working group, a collection of DOJ officials who work to prosecute Trump’s perceived enemies. Some of the group’s targets include Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook and New York Attorney General Letitia James. The Supreme Court is expected to rule on Cook’s firing soon, and a federal court dismissed charges against James for alleged mortgage fraud.
If at first you don’t succeed, try and fail again. If once was bad enough, a second try might/would succeed, except it hasn’t thus far. Why bother? Perhaps they are getting paid the big bucks to embarrass themselves. They might have been staring at the dollar signs and missed the other part. Who knows? It’s unlikely for any of them to talk about it, or we might have more information. Oh, well. We do know one of the prosecutors in Minneapolis was overworked due to ICE and CBP’s baloney. She was removed from her post today. More power to her. At least she’ll finally be able to get some sleep.
News of Martin’s demotion attracted mockery online. “Thoughts and prayers,” wrote political commentator Keith Olbermann in a post on X. //// “Ed Martin is even too f—— crazy for Trump and MAGA!” journalist Paul Handley posted on X. //// “The Jan6 Cheerleader who Donald Trump placed in charge of weaponizing the DOJ just got fired from that job. ED MARTIN LOST ALL OF HIS CASES!” Grant Stern, executive editor of Occupy Democrats, posted on X. //// “I guess because in Trump’s view, he’s been ineffective in convicting at least one person so that Trump could validate his claim and reason for retribution,” military veteran Evaristus Odinikaeze posted on X. “I hope they replace him with one of his illegal Barbies Alina Habba or Lindsey Halligan.”
Thoughts and prayers. Illegal Barbies. Ahahaha, those are just beautiful! Trump’s attack dog had no teeth. Court cases can’t be won by gums. Trump is 0 for 3 in getting partisan AGs to do what he wanted and craved. Courts were having none of it. Was it imposter syndrome? “Oooo look, I have power so I can help Trump!” It’s more like they can fail for Trump. We’ll see what happens next. And we’ll likely be able to chortle again.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
