Krispi Gnome just can’t ‘win’, and our hearts are not breaking for her. She hasn’t learned how to shut up. She hasn’t learned how to make her comments and press conferences consistent. There were 3 articles about her recently, and they all changed from one to the next on the same day. She’s definitely one of those stereotypical women who can’t make up her mind. This one, however, is actually funny and sad, given the myriad comments about her and El Presidente Imbécil. Thank you, Raw Story:
Political experts and observers alike hit Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security with brutal corrections on Saturday, after the agency released what some called an “embarrassing” statement about violence against police officers. It started ahead of the weekend, when the Trump administration’s Homeland Security posted this to its social media.: “Reminder: if you lay a finger on a federal officer or agent, you will face the full extent of the law.”
Online analysts and onlookers were quick to point out one fatal flaw in the DHS’ argument about prosecuting violence against police officers: Trump gave a blanket pardon for the siege that took place when MAGA voters tried to overturn a lawful election on Jan. 6, 2021.
So don’t lay a finger on them. How about an elbow or a foot? It only says finger, after all. How about a knee or a shoulder? We could go on all day about this. But then, look again at those last couple of sentences. Trump gave a blanket pardon to the rioters of January 6. That’s the part that makes us angry because Capitol police officers were hurt. And some of them didn’t make it. (That’s the real hard gut punch.) So, let’s move on with some comments!
Adam Cochran, a professor and investor, chimed in with, “Unless Trump pardons you for beating them with a flagpole while storming the Capitol.” //// The extremely popular liberal commentator known as Wu Tang is for the Children asked one question, “So what happened here?” with a video of MAGA rioters beating up police officers. //// Mike Nelson, a retired Army Special Forces officer and a member of the Atlantic Council’s Counterterrorism Project, offered a simple “reminder that Capitol Police are, in fact, also federal officers.”
Yes, that would be both facetious and absolutely correct. Apparently, the warning is only meant when they’re discussing CBP and ICE trigger-happy goons. We look at these comments and wonder why we can’t come up with statements that are as succinct. And some of them point out hurtful things, and some of them, we can say, are pure snark. The current government only wants to protect *their* thugs. We can’t call them federal officers anymore. Not after Renee and Portland. But I promised to stay away from that. And so, on to the rest of the comments:
Writer Ben Amey replied with, “No one respects you or is scared of you anymore. We know you’re just insecure, power-tripping psychopaths who don’t have a place in American society. Each and every one of you will be brought to justice.” //// Bill Prady, co-creator of “The Big Bang Theory,” weighed in, “Unless you’re a Trump supporter at the Capitol.” “Then you can assault all the federal cops you want,” Prady added. //// NPR’s Tom Dreisbach said, “Under the Trump administration, there is an exception to this rule.” //// Novelist John A. Daly responded with, “If you retweeted this in earnest, rather than irony, I’m embarrassed for you.”
Exactly. Knowledge, remembrance, and honesty. And some ironic humor because they all laid it out in response to that “federal officers” shizzle. “It’s only our people that count.” The rioters should never have been pardoned. A bunch of them are ending up back in jail, too. We can hope Trump won’t notice and pardon them again, because it will be rinse and repeat. This was a bit more serious than I intended, and I apologize. It just came out that way. It’s late, and I’m loopy. Let’s not forget the Capitol Police. They went above and beyond. We will keep reminding the administration about that. In your faces, Krispi Gnome and Drumpf. *We* know what counts.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

“The rioters should never have been pardoned. A bunch of them are ending up back in jail, too. We can hope Trump won’t notice and pardon them again, because it will be rinse and repeat.”
If I’m not mistaken, there won’t be any pardons a second time around since most, if not all, of those “repeat offenders” were prosecuted for STATE crimes. Drumpf might try to pressure some red-state officials into pardoning or granting clemency, but only a handful of red states (AL, MS, SC, SD, WY) give the sole authority to the Governor (KY, NC, CA, OR also give sole authority to the Governor but while Democrats hold those positions, Drumpf would have very little luck in getting his criminals out of prison).
