Uhoh, Donnie might want to think about what he’s doing and what the peace prize actually means, because he likely threw his minimal chance of getting one peace prize into the (gold, ick) toilet, or keeping a different peace prize, because he has just stunned the world in an armed takeover of Venezuela. And then there’s kidnapping the leaders of the country. BUT, I talked about that earlier today, so let’s move along to something that Trump didn’t consider before attacking another country. With many thanks to Raw Story:

Donald Trump in December was given a medal as he was awarded the FIFA Peace Prize, which some have dubbed a “participation trophy” for the president who has long coveted the Nobel Peace Prize, but even the backup award he received is being called into question after the U.S. captured Venezuela’s leader. [And by the way, Venezuela has quite the talented soccer team. Do you think they’ll still play in the World Cup this year? Hmmm.]

Not a bright idea, Donnie. He is going to be resented and hated in TWO countries now. Can’t see the country welcoming the US with open arms, either. How long had this thinking been festering in his head? Because it seems like a spur-of-the-moment thing, ”oh look, I’ll be praised for ridding the country of their horrible president” by *kidnapping* him and his family. That’s going in the *opposite* direction of peace. Apparently, he didn’t think about that, not while he’s planning to run that country. Good grief.

Trump, early on Saturday morning, announced a successful plot for the U.S. to capture the foreign leader and his wife. The president later announced his intention to have the U.S. “run” the nation. The apparent imperialistic tendency of the president didn’t go unnoticed, with many noting that it flies in the face of the FIFA award.

Popular podcaster Tony Martin said, “I’m seriously starting to question the credibility of the FIFA Peace Prize.” //// Media host Zack Guzmán weighed in with, “FIFA awarded Trump their first ever peace prize exactly 29 days before he bombed Venezuela.” The widely followed satire account TheRealThelmaJohnson replied to Fox News’ post on social media with, “I’m starting to think Donald Trump doesn’t take the FIFA Peace Prize seriously.”

No kidding. He somehow pulled off getting the World Cup to play in the US (mostly) this year. And FIFA chose to honor him (can’t envy them having to do CYA stuff). Now he is throwing it in their faces by attacking another country for NO GOOD DAMN REASON. Seriously now, don’t we have enough trouble to deal with here? Venezuela is going to be the loss of good military people, the expense to attack and “run” a second country, and all that it means (which, when you think about it, is a LOT), and a lot of money he’s going to hate seeing going away, and divided attention when he can barely concentrate on “running” the USA (and stay awake). Dude, did you even try to think this through?

Former Republican joked, “Trump has been officially stripped of his FIFA Peace Prize,” and included an AI video of the medal being taken from Trump. //// Sports journalist Leyla Hamed added, “FIFA, under Gianni Infantino, gave Trump its first-ever ‘Peace Award.'” //// “Since then, Trump has bombed Nigeria, Somalia, and Venezuela, and rolled out the red carpet for Netanyahu, the man responsible for the genocide in Palestine,” she added. //// TV journalist Dan Walker said, “I am not pretending to be an expert on Venezuela, but it is uncomfortable to watch world leaders trying their best not to criticise President Trump for steamrollering years of political procedure & precedent in removing Maduro and now claiming the US will ‘run’ the country.” //// “FIFA might want to rethink the ‘peace prize’,” he added on Saturday.

We can sincerely hope they take it back somehow. It’s an embarrassment to them now. Trump doesn’t deserve ANY Peace Prize. There are a bunch of prizes we could give him. Heh, heh. It still won’t be a Nobel. And now? His chances are flying by the planet Pluto, and are so small we can barely see them anymore. It’s time to check the liquor cabinet to support us while watching him whine and to help us survive. We have to get to early November. That’s a goal worth considering. And worth remembering.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

    • He’s ridiculous. I’ll bet we could fill pages and pages of descriptions of him….hmmmm. That could be fun! (I was actually trying to be snarky.)

  1. Susan, “He is going to be resented and hated in TWO countries now”. How could you make such a big, even bigly, understatement regarding the level of resentment and hate that already exists around the globe?

As for “How long had this thinking been festering in his head? Because it seems like a spur-of-the-moment thing”, methinks the cohort of enablers and grifters around him have been planning and planting this idea in his one thought at a time brain cell for quite some time

  2. Drumpf actually had a chance of improving his reputation around the world just a few months ago when he “hosted” Putin on American soil but, instead of arresting him for his genuine international criminal action of invading a neighbor which had done nothing to Russia, he let Putin fly home. Now, Drumpf is showing he’s absolutely Putin’s student/understudy by illegally invading a foreign country which had NOT done anything that could legally justify such an action and then adding to that criminal behavior by kidnapping that country’s president and his wife.
Of course, Drumpf says he’s planning on putting the couple on trial for “narcoterrorism” but, funny thing that charge, because the US has to PROVE those charges IN FRONT OF A WORLD THAT WILL BE WATCHING FOR ANY SIGN OF FUNNY BUSINESS. (And, Drumpf’s recent pardon of another former Latin American president who was in prison in this country on drug charges is really going to work in favor of the defense on the validity of the entire trial.)

    • Agreed x 100. He is now obviously Putin’s bitch and it’s embarrassing. I wish we could have detained him in Alaska but I also would have been concerned about a firefight and Putin getting away anyhow. And what sort of damage happened to Trump. I would think that they wouldn’t want to hurt Drumpf *too* badly because he’s Putin’s bitch. And now so is our country. It’s *@(#_{Q$*^@E!&+ embarrassing as all get out. “I Am An American and Trump Does Not Speak For Me” if I can ever find the link again I’m going to order a shirt of that.

Having the world looking over his shoulder is going to get heavy. We can bet he didn’t think about that either. This business with Venezuela is … is … is … (let’s go for) ridiculous.

The only, and not much of one, good thing is that we’ll have plenty to write about.

And by the way, Joseph, do I ever do anything right?

    • Also, oops, I had forgotten about the pardon. I’ve been working on something to try and list all the legal issues for an ordinary, everyday person like me. You start with one thing and then you have something else, and something else, and…the list is growing. I’ll have to add that pardon to it.

  3. “I’m seriously starting to question the credibility of the FIFA Peace Prize.”
ROFL, is this the first time that thought entered their mind?

    • Ahhhhahahahaha! I thought the whole thing was a farce from the beginning to butter up Trump so he can preen and boast and leave FIFA alone to do the whole World Cup thing. They knew how much he wants a Nobel since he is carrying on and is whining (boy, is he ever) every damn day. Sheesh!
