Elon has been busted again. The DOGE lies and errors are really getting noticed! Elon may have been out of the news since they lost the Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice battle a couple of weeks ago, but he is still there and making a mess. He seems to do that very well, yes?
He said he would find ways to save the government money by rooting out all the “bad things”. It was 2 trillion on the campaign trail. It was shortly revised down to 1 trillion, and now it’s been revised again down to 150 billion. Hmmmm, what does that say? How about he can’t keep his promises? No wonder he gets along with the Mango Mandarin Messiah so well. If he tries to make cuts to Medicaid and Social Security, there will be hell to pay. Speaker Mikey Johnson is already having to reckon with that.
Making matters worse, that figure appears to be wrong, too. The New York Times reported: … Mr. Musk’s group tallies up its savings so far, it inflates its progress by including billion-dollar errors, by counting spending that will not happen in the next fiscal year, and by making guesses about spending that might not happen at all. Well how about that, huh?
In general, DOGE has made an amazing mess since it started taking over organizations. They’re butting in on everyone’s business. They are seeking to wipe out “waste, fraud, and abuse” wherever they go, and they’ve found pretty much nothing. I don’t like outside people poking into Treasury, or Medicaid, or the IRS, or Social Security. They have NO BUSINESS sticking their fingers into that sensitive information! And if any of that gets out, whooooo boy, there will be hell to pay! The people of the US are already rising up against Agent Orange. If you add the exposure of sensitive information, we will demand blood!
DOGE uses an unsecured server (!!!!!!!!!) for the “wall of receipts”; they don’t have anything much that’s true up on “their” website. It’s open to being hacked, as we already know. They really don’t have much of anything that they’ve done on it. They’re certainly not showing results! Lies, lies, lies are all we’re getting. They fit in really well with Elon’s crap. And is he or isn’t he heading DOGE? No one seems to know exactly.
Additional news from MSNBC: The Times’ report, which has not been independently verified by MSNBC or NBC News, added that while the DOGE website claims to have saved $150 billion in federal spending, as of last week, “it has provided receipt-level breakdowns for less than 40 percent of that amount.” (When the Times sought explanations from DOGE and the White House, neither responded. Administration officials also made no effort to substantiate Musk’s claims.) A companion report noted that the DOGE website has been “riddled with errors, double-counting and other large inaccuracies.” One day earlier, the Times also noted that Musk had made provocative claims about apparent unemployment fraud that also fell apart under scrutiny. Musk also peddled false claims about Social Security fraud, leading to similar questions about whether the billionaire was simply confused. Elon seems to be confused a LOT, doncha think? Indeed, for as long as there has been a DOGE endeavor, there has been evidence of Musk’s governmental incompetence.
One last time, from MSNBC: The charitable explanation for this is that he’s simply a hapless amateur who fell for a familiar refrain. Too often, there’s an assumption among political “outsiders” that Washington, D.C., is filled with idiots. Paper-pushing bureaucrats, corrupt lobbyists, and scared politicians, focused solely on their re-election plans, the assumption goes, engage in a tiresome dance, but they collectively fail to do meaningful work or make tough decisions. The less charitable explanation is that Musk actually understood the relevant details perfectly well, and he peddled absurd claims out of a cynical belief that many would fall for nonsense.
I love writing about Elon or Elon and DOGE. They’re *such* good subjects for pieces. I have too much fun! And by the way, how in the hell did he manage to develop all his companies? For being such an apparent imbecile, he’s done pretty well with those, like SpaceX. We won’t discuss Tesla again *ahem*. And how did he change from a Never Trumper to a full-out Trump is my god and by the way, we love fascism? We may never know, but that’s ok, right? That’s okay.

Musk is a version of Steve Jobs. Someone with SOME knowledge of what the people who actually do the work as in create the products do or take care of the manufacturing but NOT expert enough on any of it to run a major project himself. Like Jobs, Musk is great at identifying untapped potential and obtaining resources to build it out/realize it. The examples you cited for example. Musk didn’t create shit, he just figured out that someone willing to gamble could turn them into something much more than what they were.
Denis, it makes my DAY every time you comment on one of my pieces! I can certainly agree with you. I believe he didn’t do that well with DOGE because it’s a disaster.
🤗🤗🤗 Oh please, let me add to the Musk pile-on!! We all know he bought the President and believes he purchased the entire country. He and his little incel bruhs are clearly grabbing as much 💰 as possible! And, he has no shame in his lies about DOGE savings or about now admitting he can’t save any money! During the campaign, Musk promised $2TRILLION in waste reduction. After the election, Musk claimed this figure was really only $1T and on March 27, in an interview with Bret Baier, he repeated that amount and said it would easily be achieved before his position ends in “64 days.”
But, just 14 days later, at the April 10 Cabinet meeting, Musk admitted he will have only $150 BILLION in savings by the end of this fiscal year [and none of THAT is verifiable!!]. 🤬 Trump calmly accepted that new tiny figure and then he and Musk and Musk’s snotty kid boarded Air Force One to attend a UFC fight!! This ain’t a real government!! 🤯
The kicker is that after Musk reported his ridiculously small amount of waste savings, he announced “And I mean, some of it is just absurd ‒ like people getting unemployment insurance who haven’t been born yet.” 🤪🤯 WTF?! Are these the unborn children of the 350 year-old dead guys who are still getting their Social Security checks?! Government by Ketamine is literally a trip!! 😵💫😵💫

“Elon Time” is a term used to describe his wild exaggerations when promising new products and features.
