I don’t even have the right words to express how pissed off I am. RFK Jr continues to push the anti-vaxxer bullsh*t. The outbreak is growing. And by the way, bird flu is growing, too, and has the potential for a pandemic! I’m not even sure if they are still working on a vaccine for it, thank you DOGE cuts Hello, Covid 2.0?? But anyhow, this measles thing is getting beyond ridiculous!

Kennedy Jr. made several unsupported or misleading claims about the measles vaccine, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said is safe and “the most important tool to prevent” the disease. Meanwhile, a measles outbreak in Texas continues to expand. Kennedy said that the “vaccine wanes about 4.5% per year.” Although antibody levels can fall, there’s no evidence that overall vaccine protection declines that quickly. It would mean thousands of vaccinated people should have contracted measles in the latest outbreak. The health secretary made the unsupported claim that the measles vaccine leads to “deaths every year” and misleadingly said it causes “all the illnesses” of the disease. The vaccine can cause some similar symptoms, but it is much safer than getting measles. Makes sense, right?
He is saying he’s not anti-vaxx, but that vaccines should be a decision of the parents. I am SO GLAD I am not growing up right now! Of course, I think school requirements would have made sure I was vaccinated, but still! From Axios: In Texas, as of March 25, there were 327 confirmed cases in the state, and 40 people were hospitalized, per the Texas Department of State Health Services. The U.S. recorded its first measles death in a decade last month, in a Texas school-aged child who had not been vaccinated. The first DEATH in a decade! I’m betting there are going to be more. There shouldn’t BE more, but there will be. All because of something that RFK Jr is dubious about.
Including, from Axios: New Mexico declared a measles outbreak in Lea County, located near Texas’s Gaines County. The New Mexico Department of Health is investigating the cause of death of a Lea County resident this month who tested positive for measles. A measles case was also confirmed in a Los Angeles County resident flying through the city’s airport earlier this month. And: other cases were reported in Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York State, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, per the CDC and state health officials.
This makes me so mentally sick. It’s growing, and this could have been prevented by a simple vaccine. We all know about it because it’s been around for decades. Some have low-level symptoms from the vaccine, but nothing to be concerned about. We’ve had one death so far. If people don’t get smart, there will be more. This didn’t need to happen. We have the head of HHS saying he ISN’T anti-vaxx, but he is. He’s just trying to cover it up and say, well, it’s the decision of someone else. So, he’s dodging around and pretending he knows what’s best. But he doesn’t. He does not belong in this position, like a couple of other new heads of divisions, but here we are. Here we are.

Two stories from the NYTimes in the last two days, and verified by Rachel Maddow this evening, are horrific when considering the alternative is safe and effective.
Six hours ago, Kennedy and Trump clawed back, immediately, already allocated funds in several states to track and treat and vaccinate against measles and polio!! $12B dollars that states were using during ongoing measles outbreaks and 90% of the Healthcare staff will immediately lose their jobs…great for the economy!!
Because of the bullshit disinformation from Kennedy that huge doses of Vitamin A, mostly from cod liver oil, “miraculously cures measles,” he may start killing kids with the cure!! Physicians at Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, say they’ve now treated a handful of children who were given so much vitamin A that they had signs of liver damage. Some of them had received unsafe doses of supplements for several weeks in an attempt to prevent a measles infection.
That much Vitamin A can cause peeling skin, hair loss, yellow skin, liver shutdown, seizures, and coma!! Really, how many children does this man want to personally kill?! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I actually just posted another piece involving him, about job cuts and his goals. I should sing “To Dream/the Impossible Dream” to him but I don’t want to get close to him and catch something. Fortunately, in my case, lunacy isn’t catching, but that (obviously) doesn’t include others. Too much vitamin A so they have a choice of dying TWO ways instead of one…
The only thing that worries me is, if allowed to spread, the virus will mutate and could eventually spread to us vaxed folks.

measles has been around a very long time without significant mutations, I wouldn’t worry about that.

RFK, Jr. doesn’t believe any the lies, misinformation & propaganda that he constantly dishes out against vaccines. In fact, he himself and his entire family are fully vaccinated against measles.
The main reason he vomits this nonsense for public consumption is because it’s made him millions of dollars: Over the past two years, RFK Jr. pocketed more than $2.4 million as a consultant referring cases to the law firm Wisner Baum, whose main business is suing vaccine manufacturers.
The other reason is RFK, Jr. is also a narcissistic sadist who gets off on controlling others, especially by getting others to engage in actions & behaviors that cause one to contract the measles virus & develop deadly swelling of the brain, subacute sclerosing panencephalitis – a fatal disease of the central nervous system, or death from pneumonia. RFK, Jr. certainly qualifies for Backpfeifengesichts for each of the deaths of children he caused in Samoa as a result of spreading lies there about the vaccine that caused parents not to vaccinate their newborns for measles.
