I thought it was about time I did another Elon piece, and here we go! Polls recently show a large part of the country no longer approves of the Muskrat, especially when adding in what he has done with DOGE, and that’s Not Good. Let’s start with one of the major points. Tesla sales are sliding down *worldwide* while sales of EVs from other manufacturers are growing. Protests against Tesla are increasing. His staff is unhappy because he’s spending all his time with DOGE, and none on his flagship business. Isn’t that interesting? Plus, all the contracts Elon has with the government for SpaceX, and he’s right at the Mango Mandarin’s side All. The. Time.

People are thinking that with Elon there all the time, the Orangutan looks weak. From The New Republic: Katy Travis, a 48-year-old wrestling mom from Montana, told the publication that Musk’s constant presence at Trump’s side “looks ridiculous,” and that his enormous influence over Trump made the president “look weak.” “It makes him look like he’s kissing ass to get money,” Travis told the Times. Elon is taking the lead in most press conferences, while tRump sits at his desk and glowers. WHY isn’t he talking? Maybe he doesn’t know much about DOGE and isn’t really aware of how much the country is pissed off about what they’re doing. *I* am pissed off and I’m only one person! I’m so sick of people losing their jobs and then having trouble getting unemployment! Look at what it’s doing for national parks. Remember, people from the nuclear program got fired, and they had to re-hire them in a hurry because their division watches over the nukes? It just keeps going and going and going.

But back to Elon’s approval rating. Did you know there are more registered Democrats than there are Republicans? His approval has not slipped much for the R’s, but it is cratering for D’s and Independents. From Newsweek: “When you’re falling with Democrats, falling with independents, you’re giving up a large share of the market,” he said. “And that is a big reason why Tesla is struggling and Elon Musk is certainly at least driving a little bit of that.” What people are saying: CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten said: “I have rarely, if ever, seen any change of perception as dramatic as this one. I mean, Elon Musk’s net favorable rating It’s dropped from +24 to -19 overall from 2017 to 2025. And look at these—look at, among Democrats. He used to be beloved by Democrats at +35. Look where it is now, -91 points on the net favorable rating. That is a movement of over 120 points in the negative direction, falling through the floor.” Ouch! Elon Musk wrote on X, in response to a post about the Democratic Party’s low approval rating: “The Democratic Party is dying.” President Donald Trump said during a Cabinet meeting on Monday: “Elon, I want to thank you. I know you’ve been through a lot with this horrible situation that happens … He’s a patriot more than anything else. He’s never, think of it, he has never asked me for a thing.”

Here’s the best one: Senator Mark Kelly, a Democrat, said he was getting rid of his Tesla in a video posted on X on March 14: “Every time I get in this car in the last 60 days or so, it reminds me of just how much damage Elon Musk and Donald Trump is doing to our country. Talking about slashing Social Security, cutting health care benefits for poor people, and for seniors. It’s one bad thing after the next.”

Bonus that I just found! BYD Company surpassed the American giant for the first time in the last quarter of 2023. After falling behind for part of 2024, the Chinese company ended the year selling almost 100,000 more cars than Tesla in the last quarter. Note: Data includes only battery electric vehicles.

Maybe we should start making a spreadsheet to keep track of all of this. I haven’t been able to keep up with all the cuts/firings. Methinks that Elon may have other problems that haven’t reached the light of day yet. But I can hardly wait for the next slap in his face!

  1. And BYD has announced new battery technology they’ve developed that can give you 300 miles range in 5 minutes. i.e. about the same time as filling with gasoline in a gas car.

Tesla can’t do this, they don’t develop their own batteries. They claim the advances other people make as their own, in usual Musk fashion.

    • I did not see that in the article I read. Thank you for the information! Yea, Musk is all about claiming the good news and sticking the bad news to someone else. It’s going to come back and bite him one of these days.

    • Uh-oh, Concinnity. As I’m typing this, you’ve got a 0 on the “thumbs-up” side. Obviously, you pissed off the Muskrat-troll with your “inconvenient truth.”

I’m gonna upvote you just to offset it.

  2. The Muskrat dedicates this song to Mammon, god of money and greed:

    “We’re caught in a trap
    I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby!”

I think the problem for the Muskrat is that hels caught in the monkey trap, he just can’t let go. He’s in the inner sanctum. envisioning more money than he could ever make from Tesla. What he doesn’t really understand is that one is more lor less legal, and the other is totally illegal.

Monkey trap is defined by the Wiktionary as a” cage containing a banana with a hole large enough for a monkey’s hand to fit in, but not large enough for a monkey’s fist (clutching a banana) to come out; anecdotally used to catch monkeys that lack the intellect to let go of the banana and run away.”
