Pushback against all of tRump’s EOs and court cases are coming from an unlikely direction and I honestly didn’t think I’d see this. Federal *judges* are saying “no, we don’t think so”. Did the world just stop rotating? I kinda figured DonOld had everyone in line. I was wrong and in this case, I’m *thrilled* to be wrong. Of course, federal judges have a bit more security than other judges.

Allow me to provide an example:

On Thursday, a judge in Rhode Island hearing a dispute over a government-wide freeze on funding invoked America’s founding “after enduring an eight-year war against a monarch’s cruel reign” and added a cautionary footnote: “This is what it all comes down to: we may choose to survive as a country by respecting our Constitution, the laws and norms of political and civil behavior. … Or, we may ignore these things at our peril.” How about THAT? ?!?!?!!! It’s one helluva smackdown.

And one more, please:

A judge in Seattle declared in a separate case, “It has become ever-more apparent that to our president, the rule of law is but an impediment to his policy goals.” Ouch! Better get something for that burn!

Of course, you know someone would be unhappy about this. Supreme Court Judge Samuel Alito fired a warning last week, but then he consistently sides with our “government”. He declares in a dissent, along with three others, that US District Judge Amir Ali, had engaged in “an act of judicial hubris” when he blocked the order to set a freeze on billions in foreign aid. I would hope I could do something that amazing and fight back against stupidity and arrogance.

But we need to step up and take notice that judges are starting to see things for what they are. They’re seeing ignoring the Constitution. They’re seeing grift and favoritism. They’re seeing personal profit. They’re seeing what’s wrong and putting it on the straight road again. Judges that can’t be intimidated or bought off. Judges who go with the spirit of the law, and not just the letter. Justices who see the Mango Mandarin is making a wreck of things and are working to put the brakes on it.

We really can’t hope that *all* of the judges will stand up and take notice. After all, tRump appointed some of them. We need to choose our battles carefully. We need to pay attention to what’s going on instead of clutching our pearls and being depressed. If judges are doing these things, how could we do any less? Belief can start from these examples. We can see they’re pushing back. We are getting towards the light of what we need to do. Call your Democratic reps. Email them if you can find the addresses. Tell them to get off their butts and quit slacking. Midterms are coming and we damn well need to make Congress change in *our* direction. Do what you can. There’s a light at the end of this tunnel!

  1. “But we need to step up and take notice that judges are starting to see things for what they are”.
Starting??? It’s been plain as day since 4-November!!! Trump is evil. He’s the devil personified.

    • How about this: We are publicly seeing judges make the news about judgments and it is a lovely thing to see. tRump’s Justice Department is not winning as many of the cases as I thought it was.

    • There was a time when people like him would end up in an institution for the criminally insane. Those days are behind us, now they just go to prison, which is where he should be.

  2. 🤔 Why would Samuel Alito have trouble with judicial hubris? That’s his groove; his happy place! In fact, isn’t it judicial hubris to claim, in public, that some other Federal judge engages in judicial hubris? 🤨 Stay in your lane Alito…you have enough work to do rescinding the rights of American citizens!!

  3. The cucks in congress may be willing to cede their power to an orange monster since they’re only there because they lied and fear mongered on Cheetos coattails to get there. Can you even imagine what it’s like in some of their districts where the majority of people believe the lies this president tells? He spent years painting a picture of a hellscape in America that he’s now making a reality. But federal judges are cut from a different cloth. They like their power, and it seems unlikely that many of them, even conservative ones, would turn that power over to a man who likes to position himself behind a lectern on a podium and begin speaking in tongues.
