This interesting article just showed up on my phone.

Seems Judge Dale Ho is not the idiot everyone may think he is. Yes, he dismissed the trial which is what Adams and the tRump administration wants. So Mayor Adams is off the hook… for now. One thing is for sure – his career is ruined. Completely.

There was a little caveat to this, though – Judge Ho is appointing conservative Paul Clement to present arguments challenging the Justice Department’s decision to drop charges against Mayor Adams as he explores what his options are and if a dismissal is in the public interest. Now I find that to be interesting. Not only will Adams have the tRump administration’s threat to revisit the charges hanging over his head, he now has a judge looking a little more closely at the case. I would think that’s not a good thing. And to have a conservative working on it? Hmmmm.

Speaking of conservatives, Paul Clement has, over the years, helped push law further and further to the right through a range of cases he’s argued and won before the high court. Recently, there was one where the court overturned a longstanding legal doctrine that gives federal agencies to have wide latitude to create policies and regulations in various areas of life. He won one several years ago that dramatically expanded Second Amendment rights. So this is someone you do NOT wish to have working “against” you.

This whole case is such a mess. I still don’t understand why the DoJ decided to interfere in it. Prosecutors had Adams dead to rights in the original charges, and then were ready to have a superseding document placed with additional charges! And then to have those very same prosecutors drop the case? That’s wrong in so many ways, and they lost good people in the SDNY, as well as staff on the mayoral staff. I guess the DoJ was only looking at the end goal and not how to get there.

Why did Mayor Adams do all this crap? Did he *really* think he’d never be caught? Well, he was and the case rapidly became public knowledge. According to people I know in NYC they want him gone because that’s not what they want to represent them. Back to the yea, his career is gone. He should just crawl under a rock and stay there. But he stays defiant in the face of this and is protesting his innocence. As if that’s going to help because we know by now that it’s pretty damn sure not true that he’s innocent. Perhaps his defense was going to pull a rabbit out of their hat.

So here we are, with the DoJ meddling in a lower court case of Mayor Adams because they want his help on immigration in NYC. Somehow I don’t think many, if any, people would want to work with him now. They’re not going to want to get too close and have some of that scum rub off on them. I know *I* wouldn’t want to work with him. As a matter of fact, I would work for the immigrants and against him. But that’s just me. Yep, it’s a mess.

******And now, please read a very special request from our awesome boss******

Friends, donations have dried up this week and we haven’t gotten any new subscribers. If you’ve already helped, thank you so very much. If you can help a bit, it would be appreciated. We are in a slough of despair with the generalized Democratic depression on top of Q1 revenue rates being the lowest of all year. Thank you. Ursula
