It seems that Russia is getting out of hand in their war with Ukraine. Here is the latest stupidity.
Last night the Russians went after Chernobyl. With a drone attack. Yes, *that*Chernobyl. The one where the sarcophagus was just completed in 2017. The one where the nuclear disaster was. And Russia attacked it. Okay, so since it’s at the edge of Ukraine, they apparently think it was okay to hit it.
So what the hell is this nonsense? It would hit Belarus and Ukraine’s people first. So, then you already have multiple deaths on your hands. Then who knows how much it will spread through the air? Radiation is nothing to mess with. Of course, Russia is denying this and saying it was done by Ukraine. What? President Zelensky is not stupid. How do you think he’s managed to resist Russia for this long? And he certainly knows what will happen if the site is blown open again. There is no reason to scatter all that radiation another time!
There is a tear in the protective cover. That’s not good. I checked and there definitely is still live radiation in there. Of course, that cover is going to need to be repaired. I wonder if we will get in on it. We helped out with building the sarcophagus. Radiation is enough of a danger I’m hoping that this will be a multi-nation effort. Kyiv will certainly help as best they can when they’re in the middle of a war. Will Russia help? Who knows, but I’m betting no.
Ahead of the Munich Security Conference on Friday, “Andriy Yermak, Zelensky’s chief of staff, noted that the US “invested a lot of money and effort” in the sarcophagus, which was completed during Trump’s first term. Yermak said that Ukraine “will give a lot of information to our American partners” about the overnight attack, and the “threats” to nuclear safety he said Russia poses.” Do people really think Ukraine would attack the site of a nuclear disaster? Come on, now.
Russia says it was a provocation done by Ukraine. “Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Friday that Moscow was not behind the attack. “Most likely, this is yet another provocation,” Peskov told reporters. “This is exactly the kind of thing the Kyiv regime is known for and sometimes does not hesitate to do.”
Can we discuss this nonsense? It’s a NUCLEAR REACTOR. It’s in UKRAINE. Does anyone *really* think they would attack and blow open the site? That makes NO sense, which is why I think Russia did it. Allow me to reiterate, Zelensky is not an idiot.
So here we are with a tear in the sarcophagus that needs to be repaired, and Russia and Ukraine are at war. It’s going to be a challenge to get this done. And if another drone strike hits it, well, damn. Let’s just not think about what could happen.
