The clip you’re about to see is how things should be done in broadcast journalism but aren’t. I think that the difference may be because this is local TV, Florida specifically. And right now Florida is a hotbed of political ineptitude for a lot of reasons, chief amongst them its MAGA-lite governor, who is back in the mansion in Tallahassee licking his wounds and plotting who knows what revenge and against whom.
The person you’re about to see interviewed is a Florida rep and she’s clearly unprepared for the interview. But the local journalist is not throwing her softball answers or giving her a break. This is how it should be. And if this is how it was, in a normal world, we would have a lot more accountability than we do.

Reminds you of Kevin McCarthy, does it not? He had to be reminded that he actually spoke on January 6 and not too fondly, to the then-Commander-in-Chief. Kevin regretted that burst of candor immediately. Truth has no place in today’s GOP.

Seriously, this is exactly what we need to see every night and we would have a different country. And maybe this is the direction things are going. We have had small bits and pieces of this. Even Fox News allows some truthful statistics to be uttered, usually in the guise of the “opinion” of their “liberal commentator” Jessica Tarlov. It’s a beginning. All we can hope for is a beginning.

Aaahhhh, yes, the advertisements that “support” PZ. It looks like these MAGA-oriented advertisers have as much control over where their ads are placed as PZ has over whose ads are placed on the site. I was annoyed when I first noticed the contradiction, but soon recognized the need for advertising support for PZ to continue. It’s comical, in a way, that MAGA advertising dollars are spent (attempting to) promote its message to its most unappreciative audience, with that PZ is receiving ad revenue from organizations opposing its ideas, principles, and goals.
Now we know why God invented ad blockers…..
