Interesting tidbit of news here. Yes, we know we lost the war because Trump backed down. Fine by me, as I wasn’t looking forward to carpet-bombing civilian infrastructure and the possibility of nukes. You know Trump would love to use them. The man with the nuclear codes is completely bonkers, and *that* was a major cause for concern. But he didn’t, thank diety, and we are now in a ceasefire which Israel screwed up. Yes, I know, Hezbollah in Lebanon, but dang, could they have at least held off until all the ships were through? Last I knew, there have been all of THREE that have been able to pass through. THREE. How many more are left? Your guess is as good as mine, but it has to be in double digits at a minimum. But back to the tidbit. With gratitude for Raw Story:

President Donald Trump and his allies are not telling the same story as the Iranians about the recently agreed-upon ceasefire deal, according to a new report. Trump announced on Truth Social that the U.S. and Iran had agreed to a two-week ceasefire as they negotiate the end to the war in Iran. Few details about the agreement have been released. Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday night that the Iranian government appears to be trying to dupe the Trump administration over a requirement for Iran to cease its uranium enrichment program.

That’s not good. There has been a fear for a long, long time that Iran would build nukes. Now we find out they’re trying to pull a fast one. Do we have anyone to help? An interpreter who can read would be a good idea. And the interpreter should be one of our people, because honestly, Iran can’t be trusted as far as its thrown, and that means not at all. It’s a pity. But then again, we and Israel started the darn war out of nowhere, so we can actually understand why they’re pissed.

“Iran in the Farsi-language version of its 10-point ceasefire plan included the phrase ‘acceptance of enrichmentfor its nuclear program, something that was missing in English versions shared by Iranian diplomats to journalists,” the AP reported. “It wasn’t immediately clear why that term was missing.”

Uhoh. This is odd. They’re trying to pull the wool over Trump’s eyes, which isn’t that difficult these days. The impression was that this cease-fire would give them time to discuss such things, including the uranium program. So it’s listed in their plan but not in the English one? We’re trying to take that away from them. But if it’s not in the English version, that’s a major problem. We should be glad someone figured it out!

Political analysts and observers were astonished by the report and mocked the Trump team in their reactions on social media. //// “Trump is a titanic f— up, and will be known as such for all time. There is no possibility of redemption,” political strategist Simon Rosenberg posted on Bluesky. //// “Quick. Someone shove granite and gold fixture choices for the ballroom bathrooms in front of Trump,” Michael McDonald, political science professor at the University of Florida, posted on Bluesky. //// “Are you tired of winning yet?” Matthew Buckley, a professor at Rutgers University, posted on Bluesky.

OUCH. That last one was particularly harsh and snarky. Trump is still trying to spin it as a win. We know it wasn’t. But at least the fighting has stopped between the US and Iran. Israel is doing its own thing, darnit. I was not looking forward to “wiping out their entire civilization”. This war should not have happened in the first place. Poor planning, very poor, and attacks out of nowhere. He didn’t tell Congress. He just started throwing missiles and bombs. We’ll see if someone does something about it. Let’s hope.

How did they make him less orange in the title picture? See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. I figured that Iran would do like other foreign countries (see Ukraine) and verbally agree to things, but never gin up a signed agreement. Therefore, tRump goes away with bragging rights and they never have to deliver on promises.

    • Oh, ho! *That* was something that completely went past my head! Good point. At this point, the goal should be opening up the Strait. We both know that anything else is a bonus, as long as he doesn’t re-start the war.

      Bragging rights. Ahahahahaha!
