Herschel Walker is having quite a time this week. Quite a time. Facts and figures are too much for Herschel, umm, umm. I mean, really. The man can’t even keep track of how many children he has.
Herschel wants to make things simple. His ideas are all simple and he knows that your ideas would be simple, too, if you would only just listen to him.
The Democrats are out to fool you with magic tricks, according to Herschel. Once of these tricks is the Build Back Better Bank.
Herschel Walker says Democrats fool people with magic tricks: “Be vigilant. Don’t let them do these tricks on you. It’s like a magic trick. They’re trying to confuse you with racism over here, or the ‘Build Back Better Bank’ plan over there .. That’s not right. That’s not fair.” pic.twitter.com/8KVMsoMDfE

The Democrats will fool you with facts and figures every time.
What is tragic here is we laugh, but the fact is this guy swept the Republican primary and is polling well. This stone cold moron may end up in the United States Senate. Oh, he’ll be good for ratings. He’ll be the star of the chamber, no doubt in my mind. He and Tommy Tuberville can huddle in the corner and discuss whatever, and you know it won’t be the bill on the floor at any given moment. And Mitch will be just fine with all of it, yes siree.
You probably heard tell of Walker’s law enforcement career. Let’s check up on that. Listen to this marvelous six minute clip. It is informative, entertaining, and this is where you’ll hear that “next Herschel will claim to be Miss Georgia.”
“As long as he is willing to carry the water of white bigots, he will always have a place at their table.” That’s about the size of it.
But again, I caution you, as ludicrous as this guy is, as much of a disaster as he will be in the Senate, he has a shot at it. I don’t have a crystal ball, I don’t know what Georgians will do, but I pray to God that they don’t vote against their own interest and put another mentally ill celebrity in a place of power. If this unserious nonsense continues in this country, we are doomed. Politics is not entertainment, although, quite obviously, that is what it has become. We are amusing ourselves to death, just as predicted by the book of that title in the 1980’s.
This is how the Roman empire fell. Caligula wanted to make his horse a member of the Roman Senate, and Nero fiddled while Rome burned. We may repeat that performance in the 21st Century.

I suspect half of his voters are doing it just because he’s a famous name. They don’t care about him being a 4-watt light bulb or a hypocrite about black families.
I came to the conclusion we were lost and probably screwed decades ago. There was the “famous for being famous” crap in the 90s (and frankly just who the fuck decided Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian were famous in the first place? Neither had done a fucking thing other than be born rich and go to party’s and rich people hotspots) and then the year 2000 rolled around. There had been “reality” TV before but the explosion of Survivor into a cultural phenomenon mystified me. I read about it, and not knowing how the show would “work” assumed that with the mix of “contestants” I read about it wasn’t worth watching – the former Navy Seal would win. I didn’t watch a single episode but boy did people talk about that show! Of course, the game was exactly that – a SCRIPTED game and not nearly the “reality” things were portrayed to be. Still, it and other bullshit “reality” shows have captivated the public’s attention which I think was the point. The behind the political throne powers that be realized they had a marvelous new Weapon of Mass DISTRACTION and they’ve wielded it to devastating effect.
2000 was also the year a shitload of money went into getting Bush into the WH – on a “he’s a guy you’d enjoy having a beer with” type of marketing. A down to earth regular guy. Which of course was utter bullshit – he was a spoiled rich boy who’s daddy covered his ass through fuckup after fuckup but he was born and raised in privilege and when it came to political beliefs/choices he knew damn well who he gave a shit about – NOT all those regular folks (suckers) but rather the rich people who funded his political ambitions!
However, the saddest part of the Bush 43 thing is that it permanently ushered in the era of huge money being spent to convince the masses that people who don’t have a fucking clue (and worse don’t care!) about what most people have to go through/put up with in their lives actually KNOW their lot in life. And care about it. Which is of course complete and utter bullshit but it sells with a distressing number of voters. It was inevitable that it would lead to someone like Trump. And, as we see there is a collection of people just as bad (worse when you consider some like DeSantis are less crude and smarter) waiting in the wings.
As our country goes down in flames people will watch Jerry Springer type shit to rationalize to themselves that “Well, at least I/my family ain’t THAT fucked up!”, or “reality” tee vee and get suckered by politicians like Trump who tell them NOTHING wrong in their lives is THEIR fault but rather “those” “other’s” fault and the downward spiral we’re on will become a death spiral. (If it hasn’t already)
thankx for saying what I only think. I am so disappointed in the choices that have been made by citizens and industry alike.
Too riled up to write.
I’ve been wondering if Flint, Michigan’s water was diverted to Georgia. What else could explain putting MTG and possibly Herschel Walker in any position to enact laws? Do all Georgians have the same double digit IQs?
Walker makes some kind of sense because football is a religion down there. Greene ran unopposed. I don’t know how she will fare in a real election. I guess we’ll find out.
