WATCH: Dark MAGA’s End Game Will Sicken You

There might have been a time when this would have seemed paranoid, but we live in a post-January 6 world and so what you’re about to see should not cause you to bat an eyelash. Here’s the lay of the land: the GOP is fragmented and tottering on its last legs. Some of the best people in the Republican party (“best” being defined as representing discernable conservative values) i.e. Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney and that lot, have either resigned or been vanquished from the party.

So who’s left? What’s left? MAGA, obviously. And a few splinter old school Republicans, like Asa Hutchinson. They can do nothing of themselves but kudos for being the voice of the old school. At least there’s some integrity with these folks, unlike MAGA. Who else? Here’s where it gets scary. No Labels, the ironically named group, whose real name should be “Trump’s ace up the sleeve,” is very much here.

We live in an era of disinformation. If No Labels plays its cards right, and there’s no reason to think it won’t, then they will be successful in convincing some of the people some of the time — to the tune of peeling off 1% to 3% of the vote from Joe Biden and that could put Donald Trump back in the White House.

Make no mistake, this is exactly what the plan is.

No Labels is a threat to Democracy. It needs to be recognized as such. The  more states allow No Labels to get on the ballot the closer we are to losing democracy. They present themselves in an innocuous way. Nobody sane is saying they can WIN a state. They don’t need to win a state. Not one single state, let alone a majority of states. They only need to bleed away enough votes from Joe Biden to where Donald Trump is able to squeak back in.

No Labels is a threat that I take very seriously. I think we all needs must. Keep these people off the ballot. Recognize them for what they are, an anti-democratic group mounting a spoiler campaign and sure as hell no real, actual “choice.”

“Choice” is their buzzword, just as Steve Schmidt is sounding the clarion call of “choice” with respect to that loser billionaire trust fund baby he’s promoting, Dean Phillips.

See Phillips and No Labels for what they are: they’re both anti-democratic (as well as anti-Democratic) maneuvers, the net effect of which will be to put Donald Trump back in the Oval Office. We cannot allow that. To allow that is to allow democracy itself, our noble experiment from the late 1700’s, to slip from our fingers.

2024 is a key year. Trump may not even make it to the election. We don’t know. We know that he could end up being convicted in one of his criminal trials. We also know that as his civil trials progress, he looks worse and worse. The GOP take on that is, “It only makes him more popular.” With MAGA die hards, yes. Trump himself said he wouldn’t lose those people if he killed somebody on 5th Avenue. But let’s face it, he’s not winning over soccer moms and independents the more that damaging testimony is presented in the courts. It’s ludicrous to even think so.

We are at a crossroads and so expect the fighting from the other side to be down and dirty. And bear in mind: Mike Johnson, the election denier, is nobody you want to have overseeing the election of 2024 and certifying the winner.
