And the person pushing for it is serious! Good grief, Giuliani made a huge mess of things for Trump. Does he really think he has a snowball’s chance of Trump bringing him back? Besides, he’s been disbarred in New York and DC. So, how is the appointment going to work? It can’t. It’s ludicrous. With gratitude for Raw Story:

Lindell TV host Cara Castronuova pressed for President Donald Trump to name former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani as his next attorney general. During a Tuesday interview with Giuliani, Castronuova reviewed the requirements for a MAGA attorney general. “There are a lot of things, a lot of Trump supporters and people who voted for the president are looking for,” she noted. “A lot of things that we voted for when we voted for President Trump in 2024. One would be somebody that would go after fighting weaponization, that would go after issues like the 2020 election, like J6 prosecutions, like rogue judges, and so many other things.”

Get real. Giuliani is clearly *un*qualified and has proved it time and time again in the whole “stop the steal” mess. He isn’t capable of handling the AG position. It seemed like his mind was going back then. Try to imagine what it’s like now (remember the interview in front of Four Seasons Landscape? Next to a porn shop on one side and a crematorium on the other?). Evidently, it was actually supposed to be at the Four Seasons hotel, and someone goofed. That still induces laughter!

I have so much respect for the president,” Giuliani gushed. “He’s more than just a president. He’s somebody that I consider a very, very close personal friend. I worry about him constantly. I pray for him all the time for reasons that you know, because he’s a man in danger. And probably no one knows it better than I do.”

Nobody’s investigating the attempted assassination of the president the way I would have when I put the mafia in jail or when I did 100 murders,” he continued. “Well, I think I could straighten out the Justice Department. You don’t have to make me attorney general. Just put me there for three months. And before I’m finished, there’ll be a new Justice Department. And the left-wing press will want to get me disbarred, but you’ll find out that I am.”

Rudy in charge of the DoJ? That makes me cringe. Since he lost all the court cases for Trump, what makes him think he can do any good with the DoJ? Would there even be a department left after he gets a hold of it? We’ve already lost so, so many talented people due to Blondi and co, but Rudy would be worse. He’s inept, and he’s not so bright. It’s sad to see how far downhill he has gone since 9/11.

Castronuova pointed out that the attorney general did not need to be a lawyer. Giuliani complained that the current Justice Department wouldn’t show him probable cause after an earlier administration served a search warrant on his apartment. “I have no doubt that I could reform the Justice Department. I know it better than anyone else.

I’ve probably been in it longer than anyone else. In a lot of different positions, including a law clerk to a federal judge, so I know the judiciary,” he said. “But politically, it’s a very difficult choice. And also within his administration, you know, there are people that don’t want people around who are associated with his past because they think that’s bad for him politically.”

Color me embarrassed. I was under the (mistaken) impression that it required the person to be a lawyer. But not? Oyyyy debacles on the way. It would be a really bad idea to put Giuliani into the AG position. It’s highly unlikely he would be able to do anything for Trump’s Revenge Tour™. No one will listen to him. No one will believe him. And he’s been out of the legal system for a while, plus I’m not sure if he’s paid his court judgments yet. If we thought Bondi was bad, ugh. Giuliani used to be a decent guy. It’s a pity he isn’t anymore.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. There is probably not a person on earth who is worse qualified to be AG than Mr Ghouliani.

Which makes him Dimwit Donny’s perfect choice.

  2. Per chowderhead Castronuova, “A lot of things that we voted for when we voted for President Trump in 2024. One would be somebody that would go after fighting weaponization, that would go after issues like the 2020 election, like J6 prosecutions, like rogue judges, and so many other things.”

Maybe she needs to learn that Drumpf has done nothing BUT weaponize the DOJ since returning to the White House. Or maybe she’s forgotten the attempted prosecutions of Letitia James and James Comey (probably forgotten out of convenience, since those don’t fit her extremist agenda). The 2020 election is over and done with. Courts refused to hear the cases then because there was–class, repeat after me–NO EVIDENCE PRESENTED TO THE COURT so the court could decide whether there was actual cause (something an attorney general–or even a halfwit attorney would know). The J6 prosecutions were conducted PROPERLY–your radical MAGAt agenda does NOT invalidate the attacks on Capitol Police (what happened to “Back the blue,” Cara?) nor the THREATS against members of Congress or the physical damage inflicted on government property by those J6 insurrectionists. And since Drumpf pardoned the whole lot (many of whom have been arrested on other charges, including violence and sexual assault–including assault of minors), their crimes can’t be revisited in court (I believe, if the pardoned had not accepted pardons, their cases could be heard again and appealed). And “rogue judges?” There are far more RIGHT-WING “rogue judges” but, I suppose, what you consider a “rogue judge” is someone who puts the LAW over political ideology (unlike “Uncle” Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito).

Castronuova is somewhat correct in the Attorney General doesn’t necessarily need to be a practicing attorney (most cases tend to be presented in court by the Solicitor General) but the AG DOES need to know enough about the law in order to give advice to the President on all sorts of legal matters. And, considering the bovine excrement-level “advice” that Ghouliani has given Drumpf in the past, Drumpf would be in even deeper caca than he is now.
