Well, this is quite the news to start the day. She has made a decision which may have a hidden meaning. We’ve been wondering about this, doing the wait-and-see. Well, we’ve now seen it. It’s a surprise, but not a surprise. There’s a delicate line between the two. With gratitude to Raw Story:
Tulsi Gabbard is out as Director of National Intelligence — and while her resignation letter cites her husband’s battle with a rare bone cancer, it comes after months of rumors that Trump wanted her gone. Gabbard notified Trump in an Oval Office meeting on Friday. Her last day is June 30.
Could her husband’s diagnosis give her the graceful way out? She’s been very quiet overall, compared to Gnome and Blondi. The most we’ve seen in public was her attendance at the time Trump had the voter rolls in Georgia’s Fulton County seized. Otherwise, she has been off-radar. We have no idea what she has actually been doing, except getting information to Putin. That goes without saying, but this is still a reminder.
Behind the scenes, the picture was messier. Reports emerged in April that the White House had urged Gabbard to step down before the midterms. Friction mounted over her differing views on the Iran war and the resignation of her counterterrorism chief, Joe Kent. Pro-Israel Trump allies had also targeted her over hires they considered hostile to Israel.
This doesn’t tell us the real reason behind it. What did Tulsi Gabbard do that made Trump so unhappy? He’s in bed with Putin, too, so that would not really be a probable cause. Was it because she was a woman? We know how Trump treats women. He uses them and throws them away. It’s as if they are just pawns, just window dressing to make him look generous. That completely tanks him when he gets rid of them. Have you noticed that Noem and Bondi have gone completely quiet? But still, what is the real reason behind the White House wanting her gone, and is it ever going to come out? Inquiring minds want to know.
Gabbard had refused to rule out a 2028 presidential run as recently as this year. The former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii was confirmed as DNI in early 2025 after switching parties and endorsing Trump. She leaves having declassified more than half a million pages of government records. No successor has been named.
Hmmmm. Trump didn’t have someone waiting in the wings for her dismissal, whereas Trump had someone already chosen for Noem and Bondi. This is unusual. Perhaps Trump didn’t expect this, not right now. He was hoping she’d do it to herself without him having to stir up rage and humiliation. He’s lazy. Well, until the midnight hour has passed, and it’s time for him to rage post comments that range from nonsense to frightening. But we don’t know the real reason from the White House, and her husband’s bone cancer. Tulsi’s been flying under the radar for so long, avoiding messy accusations bleeding over into public view, that everything has been hidden. Well, she’s gone at the end of next month, so once again, wait and see.
