This is not exactly one of those Kodak moments. Donald Trump and Elon Musk have on tuxedos and Musk has his kid on his shoulders like a chinchilla stole. Very bizarre. I wonder how long he’ll keep carrying his kid, X, (not to be confused with his eponymously named social media platform) on his shoulders? Until the kid is five? Eight? Fifteen maybe? It is a trifle odd, but Musk has received so much heat for his alleged lousy parenting that he wants to appear to the world as a great father. Trump, for his part, looks bored and annoyed. But you be the judge.

Now the mystery here is who is Donald dialing?
- Melania, saying “I sent you the money. Where are you?” (Pssst: she did show up)
- Junior? Telling him, “I read those articles about how you hate being at Mar-a-Lago with my drunk friends. Do you know how much that’s gonna cost you?”
- Barron? Technically, Barron is too young for this crowd, not old enough to drink. Although it is his father’s home, so I suppose that’s a moot point.
- Ivanka and Jared? Forget about it. They showed up for Xmas Eve, they won’t be around again for a while.
- Vladimir Putin, saying, “You didn’t mean that nasty threat you left on voice mail, right? That was just a joke, right? Right.
In all events, Elon and Donald don’t seem to be having a wonderful conversation with each other. They’re physically in the same space but who knows what’s going on. Party hearty, Donald. Soon you’ll be back in office and your cult will be waiting for the price of everything to plummet while you annex the rest of the world to the U.S. And then you’re going to have to bullshit your way out of it. OMG. I’ve seen the Trump Hotel in Vegas. I was at some shopping mall across the street and it looms like this big gaudy monster.
Any building with his name on it displays the well-known (lack of) taste “proudly” displayed in all the images and videos from Mar-a-Lardo. We spent a weekend at Atlantic City with another couple, all of us lifelong New Yorkers long familiar with the toxicbeing that is DJT, back when the “destined for bankruptcy” Trump casinos were still operating (BI/Before Implosion). Given our long-held disdain for the Bronze Bozo, we stayed away from his gaming “palaces” for most of the weekend, but at one point we all had pangs of curiosity – just WHAT could be different about the Trump-named casino?
Once our eyes adjusted to the indoor lighting being so much dimmer than the afternoon sunlight, we beheld the same retro-kitsch sense of style now epitomized by the overpriced, overhyped onetime Marjorie Merriweather Post property. It was dark, dull and depressing. We dropped less than $10 each in a couple slot machines and made our way back to the bright sun on the boardwalk, our collective curiosity satisfied.
Whatever style sense there was in the family had to have come from Ivana.
