This is noteworthy. Thom Tillis ate up Kristi Noem in Congress today as you undoubtedly saw by now. So did Senator Joe Neguese, when he pointed out that a company had been hired days after it was incorporated, for a huge government purchase. Tillis says that Noem is “in over her depth” and moreover he believes that Trump is indicating a clear show of no confidence in Noem. Wow.
Tillis personally can’t stand Noem because of her mishandling of the hurricane in North Carolina. That aside, everything he says about her incompetence is factual and easy to document.
Will Trump cut her loose? Noem has few allies at this point and no friends. But Trump doesn’t want to fire anybody and give the media a “win.” So look to Noem to stick around. That said, she may be considerably hamstrung after this ordeal.
