His brain has melted down, and all that’s left is ketchup. Where on earth he got this idea from is beyond anything we’ve known. Apparently, there is a need for the MAGA hivemind, because he is somehow unable to create his own nicknames. Since when did he ask anyone’s opinion on anything? (His ‘cabinet’ doesn’t count.) Is this a first? Is he getting lazy? This is both entertaining and strange, even for him. With appreciation for Raw Story:
President Donald Trump floated a plan Saturday that he hoped would “totally discombobulate” journalists and make them “go totally crazy” – a plan he asked his supporters for feedback on in a post on social media. That plan, as Trump explained, would be to rename Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the “National Immigration and Customs Enforcement” (NICE), an idea he floated last month to little fanfare. Such an action would require approval from Congress, something that appears unlikely given Republicans’ razor-thin majority.
Oy. This goes way back to the “Orly? Yarly!” meme. It’s been around for awhile, and it’s still hilarious to this old fart. The best one has the two owls “saying” it. But back on topic, this is a bit unusual for him. ICE and NICE? Heh. They sound the same with the exception of the N. There’s no point to it. It’s not going to do anything to journalists like us, and the press corps at all. But he asked.
“The concept I have had for quite some time – A strong feeling that the name of these Patriots, ‘ICE,’ should be changed to, ‘NICE,’ in that it will totally discombobulate Crooked, Dishonest, and Unpatriotic Reporters and Journalists,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “For them to say, ‘We went to a NICE Facility today,’ as opposed to ‘ICE’ or, ‘NICE Agents have deported a Violent Drug Dealer,’ they won’t be able to handle it, they will go totally crazy! Everyone loves it, but I have been told by the legendary Tom Homan that the Agents do not love it as much as the other population. Who thinks that we should add an ‘N’ to change the name of ‘ICE’ to ‘NICE?’”
Oh, please. We don’t even have to use the N. Think of it this way. If we don’t use NICE, even if they get to change it, that will drive *Trump* crazy! Not that he isn’t crazy already, but it should make for some good Truth Social rants. There is a good entertainment value in that one. But honestly, why bother?
Just as he had done about an hour earlier, Trump also included a poll in his social media post to gauge his supporters’ thoughts on the matter. As of 10:40 a.m. ET, 81% of Trump’s followers indicated they supported the name change. Trump’s two polls come amid the tentative peace deal between Washington and Tehran falling apart, with Iranian military officials announcing earlier Saturday morning that the Strait of Hormuz was, again, closed to commercial traffic, citing a violation of the agreement.
Yea, Israel started bombing Lebanon again, and it blew the agreement right out of the water, no pun intended. We were close. And let’s not get started on that situation. It’s a separate issue. So, Trump is trying to deflect away from the Strait being closed again and asking for a rather strange poll. He has to keep himself entertained. And he’s not ranting. So, if a poll keeps him happy, more power to it.

No, Donald. NO ONE would have a problem with a VIOLENT DRUG DEALER’s being deported whether by a “NICE” agent *OR* an “ICE” agent.
The problem would still remain because your “NICE” agents would still be harassing and rounding up CITIZENS (even killing some of them) because they don’t “look” right (or “white”) enough for the racists that you’ve allowed to be hired for the agency. No one is going to call out a “nice” person for behaving badly.
