“I don’t have time for P.C.”
The statement rocketed Trump to the top of the Republican field, or close enough that he felt the “energy” behind his inner hate. After that came the “Mexico doesn’t send its best, they’re rapists …” you know the entire line. “And some, I assume, are fine people.” Yes, just like every other group of people, only they weren’t called out. We know it all, the “fine people” on “both sides,” one side made up primarily of Nazis.
MSNBC’s invaluable Nicole Wallace hosted a panel that reminded us that Trump fully endorsed Roseanne prior to her tweet. On this one, I have the transcripts, via Rawstory:

“A show that President Trump once described as a show that was ‘about us,’ his voters, the men and women he often refers to in tweets and speeches as ‘the forgotten men and women,’”
In other words, he told the truth.
Princeton professor Eddie Glaude, drew a direct line from Trump’s success with racism and what we saw from Roseanne.
“It’s easy to condemn and it’s easy for folks to reflect their own moral standing, their own anti-racism by condemning it,” he said. “It’s harder to ask ourselves the question why was she rewarded in the first place? People knew Roseanne’s positions. This is just the accumulation of several racist and bigoted statements. Yet she was rewarded with the show. You think about Donald Trump—his political career began in some ways with birtherism. He was rewarded after talking about Mexicans as rapists and the like, rewarded with the presidency.”
Damn it, he’s right! We all know he’s right, but nowadays, “PC” means we can’t call the Right-Wing snowflakes out as racists because – they proclaim – they aren’t, or at least not all of them.
Wallace noted the president’s words, “about us,” and he wasn’t talking about New York “billionaire” real estate developers, so who is this “us” that he might be referring to? Well, Roseanne doesn’t exactly have a clean record in this area, and made her support for Trump clear from the beginning.
Jason Johnson of The Root, summed up the awful, as something he’s lived with as a black man, and as such, someone we should all listen to on this topic.
“I’ll be honest with you: From a pure cultural standpoint, I never liked Roseanne. I didn’t like it when I was a kid because I grew up next to people like the Connors in the Midwest, and they weren’t that nice,” he said. “I thought the romanticization of the attitudes she had was unpleasant… ABC recognized, wait a minute, there isn’t a market for this kind of behavior anymore. There will be consequences for us. There will be boycotts. There will be people who don’t want to watch our channel.”
Don’t forget. Roseanne had a history. She isn’t a rich real estate developer. Yet the show was about “us.” Trump finally told the truth.
