This would never have been comedic in the era of any other Republican president and if a Democrat did this OMFG, Fox News would have been knocking the cameras over. Rush Limbaugh would have gone into cardiac arrest right there on the air. But this is normal in the Era of Trump. Another thing to bear in mind is that this is the Mar-a-Lago crowd and they probably know a thing or two more about the Trump marriage than is commonly known. And they unquestionably know that Melania could be with her husband for the holidays but she’d rather be with her kid. So maybe that accounts in part for the approving guffaws — although it doesn’t excuse Mike Johnson, who is standing near the femme fatal in question. He’s supposed to hold marriage sacred as a Xian.
Jesus Christ, is that Kid Rock, Mike Johnson and Tucker Carlson? Do these clingers never leave Trump’s side? Do they not have homes of their own (and possibly jobs of their own)?

This is the center of the MAGA Republican universe these days. Mar-A-Lago is it. If one is called to kiss the ring, one is thrilled. Lauren Boebert was there recently with her four sons and she was thrilled to be there, especially since Trump had previously avoided her at a New York fundraiser when she was allegedly drinking too much and the waiters stopped serving her. Remember, the Secret Service would not have to go to all this trouble and expense, but for the fact that Trump has to live in a club. He needs to do that to have an audience around him at all times. All the world’s a stage to Trump. He’s the star, everybody else is a bit player or an extra. Bit player or not, he needs them. Trump has to do his tough guy persona and his family knows it’s all an act, so Trump needs to have an audience that believes him in the part so that he can believe himself.
The presidency is just a PR job to Trump. That is how he conceived it and that’s how he intends to play it. He won’t actually do the job. But that begs the question of who will be making the decisions and pulling the levers?
It’s been opined by more than one person that J.D. Vance or somebody will invoke the 25th Amendment. I don’t think so. I think that Vance will do a Dick Cheney and be running the show. Which should be interesting, since Vance’s only government experience is two years as a first term senator.
One thing is guaranteed. There’s going to be infighting like to blow your mind. You rememeber Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner hating one another? You remember John Kelly ostensibly grabbing Corey Lewandowski by the shirt collar? You remember everybody hating Stephen Miller? That was the warm up. Wait until Trump 2.0 gets underway.

He has no reason to go to DC except to greet foreign dignitaries and sign things. Otherwise, he is at his roach motel collecting whatever percentage of the cuts they make and letting them slash and burn. He stayed out of prison. They will let him be king for life as long as they get a piece of the pie. He only had one goal, not serving the magats who believed in him, using the magats who believed in him to stay out of jail and to buy whatever tacky wares he was grifting. Where’s the 2A outrage about Trump having a “gun-free zone” at Mar-a-Lago? Isn’t Trump supposed to be that “great patriot ready to defend 2A rights” all the time? Even after the “assassination attempts,” Trump didn’t seem eager to call for tightening gun laws or putting SANE restrictions on the 2A. (Just because the 2A is there, it does NOT mean unrestricted rights. The First Amendment is rife with limits, many put there by SCOTUS. So the 2A shouldn’t be any more sacrosanct.)
