To the point that it angered someone, and she made it clear. This guy apparently subscribes to the Trump method of deflect and attack. You can see it when you begin reading because it doesn’t take long at all to figure out what’s going on. This is definitely one we wish we could have seen, because it must have been glorious! My gratitude to Raw Story:

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) became frustrated with Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner for discussing former President Joe Biden rather than President Donald Trump’s record.

During a Thursday Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, Turner noted that there were 770,000 people homeless at one point under the Biden administration.

“Right. So, what is your record?” Gillibrand asked. “You had this job for well over a year. I just want to know. Did you get the number down? Do we have 700,000 homeless still? Or is it a million or a million point five?”

“I just don’t want to hear about what you don’t like about the Biden administration,” she added. “You’re in charge. You have a vision. Let’s see it. Let’s see the results.”

That’s most definitely a straightforward question to answer. What have you done with the department you’ve been leading for over a year? It wasn’t a question about the Biden administration. It’s a question about now. It’s a question about the Trump administration. Are you doing your job, and what have you done thus far? That’s about as simple as it gets.

I thank God that I’m in charge so we can do stuff differently,” Turner replied, “because the plays that were ran before I got here, they failed…. But you all had during the Biden administration four years…”

Stop talking about Biden!” Gillibrand interrupted. “Talk about your record. This is so, this is so inaccurate, unhelpful, and doesn’t let this committee do our job.”

For his part, Turner argued that last year’s government shutdown had crippled his ability to provide the committee with numbers.

I think you’re obfuscating,” Gillibrand noted.

“Regardless of all of that, during the Biden administration, record funding,” Turner said.

“I thank God that I’m in charge.” Wut? What on earth does that have to do with his job? It has nothing to do with homelessness. We need facts, not, as Senator Gillibrand so succinctly said, obfuscation. And that was exactly what he was trying to do. Deflect, deflect, deflect.

Oh, my God!” Gillibrand exclaimed. “If you talk about — it’s like — it’s like two children saying, I didn’t do it. My brother did it. Stop with the excuses! Just explain your record!”

Record homelessness, we have to do something different,” Turner stated. “It’s going to get better.”

Do you know what it’s like to be a homeless little girl who has to have a Girl Scout troop just for other homeless little girls because that’s all they have?” the senator asked. “That’s the only consistency they have in their life. So, I get you have a different vision.”

He doesn’t have a different vision because he doesn’t have any vision. It seems he’s done nothing but hold down a title and slack off on the taxpayers’ dime. It would be interesting to know if he actually said anything in reply to a question. The gut feeling is he didn’t. Just another slobbering sycophant in Trump’s ‘cabinet,’ that’s a waste of time and space.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
