Well, now. Just when it seems his numbers couldn’t get any worse, they do. Something has gone deeper underwater than Epstein numbers. Who would have thought such a thing was possible? We have found out that it most certainly was and is possible. This was unexpected. Now, mind you, Epstein numbers haven’t *improved*. It’s just that something is further under. With appreciation to Raw Story:
CNN’s Harry Enten found an issue where President Donald Trump has even less support than his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. The Department of Justice still hasn’t complied with the Epstein Transparency Act and released investigative files on the late sex offender, and longtime Trump friend, but Enten told “CNN News Central” that interest in that topic has declined as the 79-year-old president targets Greenland for takeover.
There’s the lead-in. Greenland. Trump’s revival of wanting Greenland. He’s talking about taking it by force, yet again. This time is different. European countries have put people there to protect it. It’s not as open and shut as he thinks it is. NATO is having none of it. He’s always ranted about NATO and how we do more than anyone else. Famous last words. Well, he may achieve the one thing he’s been wanting all along – to leave NATO. Or rather, he will get kicked out.
“So this is the whole idea – the president of United States didn’t like the focus on the Epstein files,” Enten said. “We’re going to change the subject, and we’re going to go over to Greenland, and from that perspective, it’s worked. Look at this: Google searches versus December for the Epstein files down through the floor. Far fewer people are searching for Epstein files, down 72 percent. Of course, you can’t fall any lower than down being 100 percent versus for Greenland. Look at this: The highest on record, up like a rocket, almost up 1,600 percent. My goodness gracious.”
My goodness gracious, indeed. We, the people of America, do NOT want Trump going after Greenland. It’s difficult to figure out why he is so *obsessed* with that country. And they are a country, make no mistake about that. Sure, there’s the whole Golden Dome nonsense, but damn. What is going on in his tiny little mind about this? We can’t understand it. But then we’re not going senile, either. There’s also the whole distance thing, too. Here’s a bit more, and then we’ll close.
“So if the idea was to distract from the Epstein files and focus the American people on something else,” he added, “it has been a success by that metric.” Host John Berman cautioned that there was no proof that Trump’s intensified push for Greenland was related to the Epstein matter, but Enten pointed out that it was even less popular with the public. “If this was the idea, right, well, it’s a bad idea politically speaking,” Enten said.
“Why do I say that? Because take a look here: Trump’s approval rating on the Epstein files, look at that, just absolutely awful – 38 points below water. But any try to buy Greenland is somehow even more unpopular. Look at this: It’s 40 points below water. There is barely an issue out there that’s worse for Donald Trump than the Epstein files, but any attempts to buy Greenland or use military force on Greenland, which even polls worse than this, is one of them. It is arguably the most unpopular thing that Donald Trump can try to do is mess with Greenland.”
The problem is that it’s going to be virtually impossible to get him to see that. Who is going to tell him and have him actually understand it? There’s no one in his cabinet who can do so. Besides, sycophants won’t want to lose their positions, but Trump never admits he is wrong, so they’re safe. The only possibility is Fox News, *maybe*, but they’re going to have to phrase it in such a way that he thinks it’s his own great intellect, and not something he was told to do. And in the meantime, if anyone can figure out why he is so obsessed with Greenland, please let me know.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
