We all know this is a bad sign. What has happened with him to cancel the peace conferences? They’re the best way to discuss things like the Strait and the blockade, at the very least. We need those ships moving!!! This is a disaster. A high-level disaster! It’s not going to be a forever war; it’s going to be a forever wait. Neither one, the US nor Iran, wants to give in on something. Shredding the peace talks is a catastrophe! Lawd have mercy, first he starts this illegal war, we lose, which he won’t admit, and now we have a Navy sitting out there when they are needed elsewhere. You’ve heard me rant about that, so moving on: my compliments to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he has cancelled a planned diplomatic mission to Islamabad, Pakistan, characterizing the journey as an inefficient use of time and resources.
“I just cancelled the trip of my representatives going is Islamabad, Pakistan, to meet with the Iranians. Too much time wasted on traveling, too much work!” Trump posted, signaling his impatience with traditional diplomatic protocols.
Wonnnnnnderful. The best way to end this thing is probably the talks, but suddenly, he wants to do away with them? What the holy hail!!! We the People want this damn thing to end so those ships are moving again! It’s hurting the *world* and he won’t or can’t recognize that. Now we are hurting more than ever. Are Trump and Hegseth going back to throwing bombs at Iran? We’ve burned through far too much inventory already. This does not bode well. What *is* it with these morons?
Trump went further in his criticism of Iranian leadership, characterizing the government as chaotic and internally fractured. “There is tremendous infighting and confusion within their ‘leadership.’ Nobody knows who is in charge, including them,” he wrote, suggesting that negotiations with Iran lack clear counterparties.
Erm. How does he know that? Because last we knew, we didn’t have anyone planted in Iran that could give us the truth on what’s going on. Did Trump just pull this out of thin air? Is he talking out of his arse? That wouldn’t be surprising. Knowing Trump, it’s all hot air blathering, babbling, blustering in hopes that Iran will open the Strait? Why should they if the stupid, ridiculous, time and money-wasting blockade doesn’t get opened? I know I’ve said this before, but damn, what is with Iran and the US doing holding the world hostage?
The president also asserted United States superiority in any future talks, despite walking back numerous threats to obliterate Iran’s entire civilization.
“We have all the cards, they have none! If they want to talk, all they have to do is call!!!” Trump claimed, placing the burden of diplomatic engagement entirely on Iran while rejecting proactive American efforts.
Well, that ‘ain’t’ going to happen. We know it. Iran can sit where they are for probably years, so they’ll be perfectly happy to sit the way they are right now. We *cannot* leave part of our fleet there for years. Too many complicated reasons, like we already know at least one ship needs to get back to port since they have now been in the water longer than expected. I’m not sure refit is the correct word to use for this, but you get the idea. The crews need time ashore, too! I am not in the military, nor have I ever been, so this is all guesses for our side of it. Iran is never going to call. They’re sitting pretty, so no need to make the call. We are SCREWED.

It will take adults in a room to get this thing sorted and that sure as hell ain’t the Trumpler regime. I suspect there’s lots of back-channelling going on involving the EU, UK, Gulf States, China, Iran and anyone else who wants to sort out Trumpler’s stupidity. But the nasty man-child won’t like whatever they come up with, be sure of that.
