WTAF? Yes, seriously. Except it’s not a Nobel. It’s a token effort to make him shut up and be happy for a few minutes. And yes, the headline that didn’t seem real, except it was. This is getting ridiculous. And he hasn’t stopped a war, either. The real Peace Prize is out of his reach. Complaining and harassing the committee is pushing it further and further away. What needs to happen to get him to shut up about this? From AlterNet:
President Donald Trump appeared at the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw event on Friday at the Kennedy Center, where he was given a “peace prize” by the organization’s president, Gianni Infantino. Trump has complained about not getting a Nobel Peace Prize for his 2025 work to end the war between Israel and Hamas. The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize only takes the previous year, in this case, 2024, into account when considering its awards. That hasn’t stopped Trump and his allies from complaining, however.
That’s some serious a$$-kissing. It hasn’t occurred to FIFA yet that they are losing the audience they might have had because of Trump’s immigration rules, deportations, and threats about always having their papers on them. Remember that hoorah? It’s not enough that Canadians and other vacationers now avoid the US like the plague. We’re going to lose a lot of money from FIFA spectators because of the threats against foreigners, money that could have helped our country. Trump doesn’t care. He has his grifts filling his coffers, and no one else matters.
But FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) stepped up with a medal of its own, and both FIFA and Trump attracted swift ridicule from those who couldn’t help but call it a “participation trophy.” Legal analyst Ken White pointed out the hypocrisy. “Boomers: It just sucks so much that everyone gets participation trophies now; you used to have to show real merit to get an award. Also, Boomers,” he wrote, including the video of the presentation. Independent journalist Aaron Rupar called it “beyond parody.”
It seems that FIFA “management” also has its lips firmly superglued to Trump’s ass. That isn’t going to help the visitors who would come see the games and then be kicked out of the country. The world knows what’s going on here. It’s so blatantly prejudiced that folks aren’t going to want to have to deal with the cowflops. They could go to venues that are outside of the US. This is stupid, and ridiculous, and idiotic, and the list of words continues. *No one* wants to come here for spectator sports or anything else, except perhaps the universities.

He’ll remember that soon enough and go back to his whining, complaining, and harassing of the apolitical committee that gives the awards on *merit*. He has no merit. He doesn’t deserve the real thing. He won’t ever deserve the real thing. He hasn’t ended *any* wars and continues to support Israel committing genocide, and he is doing *nothing* for Ukraine. (Grrrrr.) He deserves nothing in return.
