Dadgum, folks, we should be mortified. Trump is screwing up King Charles’s and Queen Camilla’s visit. And we can bet he is going to continue, with no idea of how big a moron he is. Social media cringed at President Donald Trump barging ahead of King Charles in a receiving line with his top administration officials.
The 77-year-old king shook hands with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other top cabinet officials before begging off halfway through the receiving line,
and the 79-year-old president sauntered past and picked up shaking hands where Charles had left off.
This is a stunning example of Trump ignoring everything but himself. It’s embarrassing not only for us, but for all of our country. You know, the video of this will be seen by the world and will make them even less likely to agree to work with us on anything. Who in the hail forgot to refresh Trump on manners before the Royals arrived? He has no idea about protocols and gives the impression that he thinks he’s better than the king.
Charles then offered his hand again, but withdrew it after Trump continued shaking hands with his officials as the king stood by awkwardly, and the president’s critics cited the encounter as an example of his lack of manners.
“Classless Trump,” huffed Bluesky user Jers Gal. “Walking in front of the King, not allowing him room to shake hands with the crowd. Charles tried to extend his hand a few times, and Trump just kept walking in front of him. The no-class, bumbling idiot is a major embarrassment to our country!”
That’s an understatement. King Charles and Queen Camilla are going to be very glad this is over when the visit ends. Why does *he* need to go down the receiving line? It’s for the royals, not for him. And seriously, how many people did not get to meet the king? This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and any one of us could be pissed about that. But more, everyone *should* be pissed at what Trump has done. It’s *incredibly* rude!

“Trump has no idea how to treat his guests – he rushed ahead when King Charles was supposed to be inspecting the troops, leaving Charles behind,” lamented X user Jay. “He also went in front to shake hands with a line of people – ignoring Charles and his outstretched hand. Very rude.”
Yup. What a horrible, humiliating example of an imbecile we are forced to have as ‘president’. I’m sitting here cringing just thinking about it. When will his cabinet accept that he is losing his mind and doesn’t need to be in office any longer? This is a prime example of it. Just the way he treated the Royals, the leaders of another country, is a prime example of how far down Trump has gone. How much longer are they going to ignore it? How much longer do we have to put up with him? The time has come for Trump to retire and get him out so he can bathe in all his money and can’t screw up our country and the visits by heads of countries anymore. Please.

I’m no Royalist, far from it, but protocol exists for a reason beyond subservience to a king; it allows public diplomatic functions to run smoothly and without embarrassment to anyone involved, if followed. It can be reduced to simple good manners, which are designed to show basic respect for other people, especially a guest. Sadly, Trump has no conception of such subtlties and even if he was told of them, his fragile, needy ego would dominate anyway. Charles and Camilla must be counting the minutes until this ordeal is over.
I adore Prince William and Princess Catherine, and I’m okay with King Charles and Queen Camilla. I don’t give a damn about Prince Harry.
I have seen people do protocol errors and I cringe when it happens. Tom Cruise did a major one regarding Princess Catherine. Yes, indeed, there are protocols in place for a very good reason. Trump would not remember them. He’s so concentrated on himself we can expect nothing but gaffes with him. I cringed SO MUCH when I saw all the pictures of the welcome out on the lawn. What in the hell did Trump need to shake hands on his own receiving line? And it pissed me off.

Yes, King Charles was more than gracious, as was Queen Camilla. At least he got some things in with his speech to Congress. Vance standing behind him in the pictures looks bored. He obviously has no idea what protocols are, either. They should have looked into the proper things to do *before* the King and Queen arrived. At least Mikey Jones was smiling.
