This is some bullsht. Gods above, this was disgusting, even for Trump. Not content to wear a baseball hat when our soldiers have fallen – he doesn’t know, does not care, will do what he wants anyhow while the world screams at him for the blatant, painful lack of respect to those who have fallen. And it’s disrespect to the families who are receiving a member of their family who has gone ahead, you could say. But this latest is making me scream even though there is no one to hear. With respect to Raw Story:

President Donald Trump’s response to the deaths of four soldiers killed in the Iran war stunned the nation Wednesday. Trump delivered his disturbing commentary on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, before departing to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware for the dignified transfer to honor the soldiers who lost their lives. “All of them said very strongly, ‘We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon,'” Trump said. “They won’t have a nuclear weapon, so we’re going to honor them.”

Wut? What the hail? I’ve read that paragraph over and over. The colorblindness is unbelievable. What the hail is that even supposed to mean? They all said something Trump wasn’t there to hear, so how in the hail would he know anything? How incredibly insulting. He is demeaning them by saying something he knows nothing about. And he doesn’t understand what he did!!!? He has no concept of the horrible insult he laid on these servicemen and their families. It’s disgusting. It’s painful. It’s …. I’m at a loss for words.

Outrage erupted almost immediately. Author David Simon told his 65,000 followers on Bluesky he felt Trump had disrespected the fallen troops. “It’s one thing to honor the sacrifice of fallen service members. And it’s common rhetoric to declare that they died for a worthy cause,” Simon wrote. “It’s the Platonic ideal of malignant narcissism to just stand there shamelessly and put words into their dead mouths.” Simon was not alone in his fury at Trump’s claim.

Yes, yes, 1000 x yes, Mr. Simon had it right. Disrespectful. Discourteous. Thoughtless. And so on ad nauseum. There are a whole lot more words I found, but I didn’t want to inflict a wall of text upon you, the reader. It’s so stunning that I’m almost nauseous thinking about it: the servicemembers who died, the families that are waiting for them, and Trump says that bullsht. Yea, I’m not proud of our ‘president’. It was possibly a bad idea for me to write about this because I’m getting so bent out of shape, but I’ve put too much work into it to stop now.

Entrepreneur and former Obama administration official Brandon Friedman responded, “He actually outdid himself today. This is obscene.” //// Sanho Tree, a fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies, argued Trump was effectively “using dead soldiers as sock puppets.” //// Andrew Lawrence, deputy director of rapid response at Media Matters, responded with shock.Well this is easily the most detestable thing a president has ever said about U.S. troops he had killed,” Lawrence wrote.

It’s rude and thoughtless. Trump likely thinks it was a throwaway comment, something to say while getting ready for something else. He was going to see the Dignified Transfer, probably wearing a ball cap again. Revolting moron. And again, what if this were Biden? The news would be all over it. There would be people all over this. But no. It’s a random, off-the-cuff Trump says, and being reduced to a news byte. Good grief.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. Afterwards, he left for a rally in Georgia. He had one of the families present at the rally. I thought that was unbelievably crappy. Unfortunately, it is all in keeping with his prior actions.

  2. 1) Russia is giving CIA intel to Iran on very specific U.S. targets in the M.E. and iran is hitting those targets. Deaths have occurred. 2) Hegseth ordered that activity no longer be done regarding Russia because they are our ally. 3) Patel is slated to go to Russia.

What 47 just said is one of his f*cking lies – as usual. As if all those parents thought of is no nukes in Iran. Pay attention folks – there are those who know out there giving the above information.
