As Ursula Faw’s post from yesterday make clear it is far from a certainty that the Orange Meat Puppet will be allowed to stand for the Presidency in 2024, no matter how much his deranged cultists desire him to do so.
But that matter is still up in the air for the moment, so Redfield and Wilton Strategies conducted a poll of 1500 self identifying Trump voters for Newsweek Magazine, asking their preferred choice for his running mate, and the results definitely plunged a dagger into the heart of Greene’s Vice-Presidential aspirations.
Not only did Greene trail front runners – hedge fund dork Vivek Ramaswamy and Mike Pence who apparently holds on to the allegiance of at least 10% of Trump voters – she also brings up the absolute rear of the losing horses, trailing Jabba Pompeo, Trump-turncoat Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, and Representative Elise Stefanik at less than one percent.

As Newsweek’s James Bickerton wrote, “The poll is likely to come as a blow to the Georgia House Republican who said she ‘knows’ her name is on a list of possible Trump running mates during an interview with The Guardian last month.”
Summing up the poll, Bickerton wrote, Taylor Greene, “…follows Vivek Ramaswamy at 15 percent, Mike Pence at 10 percent, Ron DeSantis at 6 percent, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Nikki Haley each at 5 percent, Kari Lake and Ivanka Trump at 3 percent each, and Mike Pompeo and Senator Tim Scott, who both have 2 percent. Also at 1 percent are Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and Representative Elise Stefanik. Another three percent answered ‘someone else,’ along with 20 percent for ‘don’t know’ and 22 percent for ‘doesn’t matter to me.'”
Ouch, that’ll leave a mark.
Perhaps it is the realization that her national political goals are amounting to exactly zilch, or perhaps it was the warning from Republican political strategist Susan Del Percio that the Biden Impeachment cake ain’t even half backed yet, but, all of a sudden, Greene is backing off the precarious perch she has staked out since the Thuglicans retook the House that Biden should be Impeached post haste, hearing and evidence be damned.
Raw Story reports that as the realization dawns on Greene that she is not going to be Vice-President and may have to settle for a longer stint in the House than her fever dreams had accounted for, and perhaps that in the minority, Greene has cooled her jets somewhat in her “Impeach Biden Now” rhetoric:
“(R-GA) first jumped the gun on impeaching President Joe Biden, filing articles of impeachment just after Republicans took control of the House of Representatives, but now she appears to be backtracking.
Greene, who got bad news on Saturday in the form of a poll showing she is completely unwanted as Trump’s vice presidential pick, reportedly threatened to shut down the government without a Biden impeachment vote just a few days ago. She has consistently called for impeachment of not only Biden, but also his top officials.
On Saturday, however, she struck a different note.
“Our country deserves for Congress to vote for an impeachment inquiry for very important reasons, not a rush impeachment vote,” the lawmaker wrote.”
Not to worry though, even if Marge is toning it down just a notch, there is plenty left of the unhinged MTG that we all know and love to hate.

Greene is still lying about what the Comer hearings failed to uncover, still insisting that the MAGA wing of the Republican Party somehow represents the majority of the American people, still insisting on Impeachment.
But she is backing off the idea that Impeachment should proceed without without an inquiry or full House vote, which is progress of a sort I suppose.
Perhaps daddy McCarthy explained to her that if a career in the House is to be her fate, perhaps she should play by its rules.
Especially if Hakeem Jeffries becomes the next speaker.
Kind of funny actually. I would thing former guy would not want anyone even close to being smarter than him and Kooky Pants is one of few pols who is decidedly dumber than he is and it isn’t even close.

When’s it going to sink in that first they are going to have to find an unpaid parking ticket or something to even start an impeachment investigation. I know there are some people out there that are dense but please, explain to this clown that if they have nothing to start with they will have nothing to finish with. Let’s face it. Trump is going to jail. And he’s done pissed on every judge and prosecutor involved. So that rumor going around that he will just get home confinement. I wouldn’t bet a dollar on it as a former prosecutor says. Right now he’s got four cases. I’m betting another dollar that by Christmas time he’s got at least two more. So you sit there and think. Federal minimum sentences run three to five. And I’m thinking consecutive. So just on the four. That’s twelve years. And we mustn’t forget old Alvin since he turned all that evidence over for his civil case. So there’s another three. State court to. One of the four is state court also. So you are talking fifteen years. I give that cherry fifteen weeks. They may eventually let him out but they will break him first. I guarantee it.
I guess that last place still counts as “on the list”.
