Joe Biden was roasted for his end-of-term pardons. Trump is doing them *now*. He started with the Jan 6 *rioters*, not “patriots” as soon as he took office. (See Denis’ piece on that here.) And now he’s doing it again, and this is some bullsh!t. He is throwing out pardons for some people we *KNOW* were guilty as hell, and I am raging. This man needs to be impeached six ways from Sunday. He is throwing pardons around like they are nothing! But would he pardon any of ours? Oh Hell No! From CNN:
President Donald Trump has pardoned a long list of his political allies for their support or involvement in plans to overturn the 2020 presidential election, according to the Department of Justice’s Pardon Attorney, Ed Martin. The individuals listed in a proclamation, which Martin posted on X late Sunday, include high-profile figures like former Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and the president’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, among dozens of others.
Screaming. Just screaming. We still have the RICO case going because that was the state of Georgia, and not federal. But all the others? *Poof*. *GONE*. What the hell??!!!! And why did he wait so long, anyhow? Of course, there’s that whole thing about “sitting President” that’s sticky. But when you think about all the others? Guilty as hell! They were busted and proven wrong. But not anymore. Pardoned! ARGH. Oh, wait…
It includes a “full, complete, and unconditional pardon” for those named, including some of the president’s co-defendants who were charged in Georgia for trying to subvert Trump’s 2020 election defeat. Presidential pardons only apply to federal charges, not state or local charges. None of the people on the list is currently charged with federal crimes, though some were named as unindicted co-conspirators in special counsel Jack Smith’s election subversion case against Trump, which prosecutors withdrew after Trump’s 2024 election victory.
Federal pardons. Georgia is the only place left with charges, although Trump is trying to get his tax fraud and E. Jean Carroll cases overturned in NYC. Again, can’t do that. *State charges*. Heh, sorry not sorry. See us attempt to cry huge crocodile tears when we want to laugh. How can’t they forget those were state charges? Perhaps Trump thinks he can pardon anyone anywhere, and he’s not listening to the people who know.
The pardon also explicitly states that it does not apply to Trump. In a statement to CNN, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt praised the people Trump pardoned as “great Americans.” Also, last week, the president granted clemency to a retired New York City police officer who was convicted in 2023 for stalking a New Jersey family on behalf of the Chinese government. Trump also pardoned former Major League Baseball star Darryl Strawberry for a 1995 tax evasion charge.
Wait, wut? Does not apply to Trump? There’s got to be a reason, but wut? The people he pardoned belong in jail (see: all of them, and there is one missing). That makes less than no sense. And did someone not remind him about *state* charges? Don’t think Susie would forget that easily, not with Trump trying to overturn those. Who knows what goes on in the mind of that demented man? Well, it’s going to come out soon enough since Trump can’t keep his yap shut. Let’s just hope we can do damage control.

Current dem leadership (oxymoron) has been crap since at-least 2016 when they rigged the primary schedule for Shillary Clinton (and they admitted it and claimed it was there “right”). They do not want to win anything meaningful. They are what made/makes tRump possible and continue to enable the destruction of the USA so that billionaires can kill what the themselves call “useless eaters”.
They no longer need us as workers or consumers.
Oh, please go find a cactus and sit on it. If the “dem leadership” had *really* “rigged” 2016 for Hillary, Sanders would’ve been told to “pound sand” since HE’S NOT A DEMOCRAT. He has NEVER been a member of the party yet he somehow felt “entitled” to STEAL the presidential nomination of a party to which HE DOES NOT BELONG. He never JOINED the party but, after his supporters tried to STEAL the nomination at the Convention, he PROMISED that he would run, IN ALL FUTURE ELECTIONS, as a Democrat. He spewed some BS during 2016 that he “owed” his constituents in Vermont his continued status as an “Independent” because that was how he was elected by the “people.” (Of course, his “independent” status didn’t keep him off the Vermont–or any other–Democratic primary ballot.) But, shockingly, in 2018, when he ran for re-election as Senator from Vermont, did he run as a Democrat? NO. The state’s Democratic Party opted to support his run BUT, on the actual ballot, he was NOT tied to any party. Then, once again, in 2020, he decided to HIJACK the Democratic Party’s nomination but, this time, the Party was concerned about letting Sanders steal the party’s top job.
Sanders would NOT have beaten Drumpf in 2016. This Democrat (though I live in Alabama so my vote for any Democrat as President is effectively wasted) would have most likely protested Sanders’ nomination, either sitting out the election completely or voting third-party. But there is no evidence that Sanders (the self-described Socialist) could’ve won over any wavering GOPers. The man was just as much part of “the Institution” as Hillary (actually, even more so as Sanders first entered Congress in 1991, more than a year before Bill announced his run for President) and his only “saving grace” was the lack of a quarter century of actually doing anything meaningful in Congress that would earn him the wrath of the right-wing media (though, certainly, the summer of 2016 with Sanders as the Democratic nominee, Fox “news” would’ve made up for that in practically no time–you know they had to have spent the first half of 2016 building their case to destroy Sanders).
