Well, now. All is not well in the House, and we can almost bet it started with Moses Mikey. The GOP has a lot of members who are disgusted over, of course, Epstein. There was an involuntary vacation for them because Mikey was scared about the whole thing. He’s a coward in more than one way. CNN noticed it. There is an abbreviated commentary from Raw Story:
Republicans are breaking from President Donald Trump, and the GOP is bracing for “mass defections” over the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, CNN reported Thursday. “They are bracing for mass defections from the White House,” CNN’s chief congressional correspondent Manu Raju said. A vote is expected early next week on the discharge petition that would prompt the Justice Department to release the Epstein files.
Wow, they noticed. Who gave Republicans the Democratic thinking? Whoever did, let them change more Republicans, so that, at least on this one thing, we have a much more united group. Sure, it may only be over Epstein, but that’s a lot. This is something to hang on to for the vote next week. If we’re lucky, there will be enough to override what wimps they have, so there’s no way for them to block a decent amount at the vote. Wouldn’t that be lovely? (Hoping this means Ms Grijalva got to sign the discharge petition.)
“But there are still a number of questions. And I’ll tell you, I talked to a number of Trump allies who have told me that they are perplexed by the White House’s response to this, that there is a lot of confusion as to why it is that they are putting this out there in bits and pieces, or allowing this to be essentially something that they are on the fence about instead of the offense,” CNN senior White House correspondent Kristen Holmes said.
Oh, my, my, my. There is definitely disorder in the ranks, and they are looking at the White House for answers – which haven’t been forthcoming. Oh no, bluster, deny, redirect, dodge, you name it, the White House is doing it. Trump doesn’t want those out (see: 1000 FBI agents), nosiree. He soon may not have a choice. There probably *could* be ways he’ll try, but. But. To close:
“And I do just want to point out Manu’s interviews there,” she added. “That is absolutely stunning when it comes to this administration. You almost never see a break like that from what the administration is wanting. And members of the Republican Party on Capitol Hill pushing back in those kind of numbers.” The White House has downplayed the newly released emails and referred to them as a “distraction” as the government reopened Wednesday after the longest shutdown in U.S. history.
WHAM. A whole bunch of documents were released by Democrats (hmmm aren’t they in the minority?) as well as a handful of emails. Dunno who is reviewing them although CNN might be. Of course, CNN has slipped to the right over the past decade so we can’t be sure of what they’ll say. We can hope they’ll take a center stand on them and just report without slanting. A distraction. Ahahahahaha. It’s not going to work that way. Even MAGA has stood firm on releasing the Epstein files. Republicans are breaking away from the administration. This is not a “distraction”. It’s true. It’s time.
