I’d give anything for a President who bores my balls off Bill Maher and Murfster35
Just think, it was three weeks ago yesterday when we watched a rabid mob o0f MAGA morons, and Loud Toys storm through the Capitol building, in a failed coup attempt to keep El Pendejo Presidente in office for life. It was one week ago yesterday that we saw Joseph Biden take the oath of office that the seditious mob had been trying to prevent, from the portico steps of the same Capitol building. And today, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki held a one hour press conference, and Joe Biden signed executive orders.
Now look, I’m an easy going guy. I can take a joke. Hell, I used to be a stand up comic. But enough is enough. Do you realize that Biden already has 4 confirmed Cabinet members, and not a single one is under pressure to resign over some sleazy insider trading scam. Biden is still on his first Chief of Staff for Crissakes, and Jen Psaki shows no signs of cracking under the pressure of legitimate questions. And when guys like Dr. Tony Fauci and new Secretary of State Tony Blinken step up to the podium, they come armed with the facts. Note that I said the facts, and not their own facts. I can take a joke, but this is ridiculous. How am I supposed to earn a living here?!?
Well, that was fun. But seriously now, welcome to the brave new world of a smooth, properly functioning democracy. because of the nonstop insanity of the last four years, kind of pike watching The Manmade Disaster Channel on cable 24/7, we all tend to forget that this is how politics and government normally is operated.
Politics and governance are meant to be boring by design, because the last thing that politicians want you paying attention to is them. That’s why Washington so hates political scandal, it puts the microscope back on all of them. If you’re not paying attention to what they’re really doing, then they can do whatever they want, and every two or four years, come back home and shovel happy horseshit up your nose to get reelected, and go back to Washington.
Which is terrible news for Trump and the GOP. Because the Trump shit show was never intended to be an effective form of governance. No, the Trump phenomenon was set up more like the ancient Roman Circuses, 24/7 entertainment to keep the faithful masses tuned in and amused. Results weren’t required for this populace, it was always about the show. Dees people wubs dem some Trump!
Joe Biden has been the President for eight days now, and you know what you haven’t seen? A single outraged tweet from His Lowness. No moving videos of him getting settled in, and waving to his buddies at the omelet bar at Mar-A-Lago. No vitriolic videos on Instagram, with Trump sitting on a gilt throne at Mar-A-Lago, like Napoleon on Elba, triumphantly predicting his return to Paris. And I’m sorry, this just won’t do.
Because Trump’s slobbering Trombies require constant gratification, as Trump graphically showed by his constant pandering to his base in everything he did. Not that it’s all that hard to keep them entertained. Every weekend, you can see thousands of them, sitting on metal bleachers, raptly watching 35 rednecks make left turns at 200 mph for 4 hours. But they need their Trump fix!
And it ain’t happening. Remember, the thing that motivates Trump supporters, and bind them to him so firmly, is blind hatred and racism. And with Trump in enforced social media exile, he can’t provide that. And it gets worse. With the Democrats owning the White House, the Senate, and the House, there is a sudden dearth of availability for GOP Trombie incumbents to step up in front of a microphone and spout off racist bullshit. Not having control of either chamber, they can’t even introduce racist bills that they already know can’t pass, just so they can show the base that they’re still working for them.
This won’t work for the GOP. Trumpism is actually really simple, it requires two things. It requires a near constant stream of hatred and racism against any other, and it requires regular, near daily doses of the charismatic Traitor Tot. And suddenly, they can’t provide either of those. In 2016 Trump lied his ass off, as usual. Trump didn’t suddenly create some massive new army of previously unknown GOP voters to his Pied Piper’s tune. What he did was to activate a massive, already existing vase of racist, downtrodden GOP voters who had long ago given up on the political system, and he made them march to his tune. And if there is no tune, and no Pied Piper, they will just melt back under their rocks again. I’ll have more to say about that in a future article.

A government based on competence, real achievements, and scientific facts? Instead of lies and spin and hollow boasting?
No wonder Joe’s approval rating is already more than 10 points better than Dimwit Donny’s best.
And he’s not been in a month yet.
I don’t know about you guys, but this is balm for my frayed nerves and tired soul. I agree with Michelle Obama, when she said she was feeling a sort of low grade depression. Thank God that nightmare is over.
Oh, I SO completely agree!!! EVery time I see Biden walk up to a podium, it’s chicken soup for the soul…
Boring times are here again…at long last.
Checking in and out of the news today. Everyone is talking about GameStop, also vaccinations like in Portland on a frozen highway. Not one other story. It is like I need a detox or something.
Near Grants Pass, I heard. They had the doses thaws, were going to use them in Grants pass, but got stuck, so – why not?
I was just checking out Barack and Michelle Obama’s tributes to Cicely Tyson Very heartwarming.
Of course, the main reason Trump’s not doing his usual shtick of hosting rallies is that now, as a FORMER *resident, HE has to foot the bill for everything. From finding a venue to host the event (and they’re NOT likely to wait for payment but will, like with every other event, expect a solid down payment–and, in Trump’s case, most likely non-refundable, barring extreme circumstances) to traveling to said event (no more taxpayer-funded Air Force One on hand) and the hundreds of other little incidentals that go along with them, Trump will have to pay for them himself. Granted, he could always do his standard grift so that someone else basically pays for it all but I can’t really see too many of his “faithful supporters” shelling out hundreds of dollars every week or two so that Trump can “rally the troops” especially to fund his appearance halfway across the country. I mean, I don’t buy concert tickets for a music act unless they’re going to appear somewhere close to me–or they’ll be somewhere close to where I’ll be on a specific date. For instance, I live in Montgomery, AL, but if I’m planning to be in Chicago for something in August and there’s an act who’ll be performing in/near Chicago while I’m there, I might buy tickets for that show; otherwise, they’re going to have to be within a 2-hour drive of me, like Birmingham, Atlanta, Pensacola, Gulfport/Biloxi. I’m certainly not going to send in a “contribution” of $50 or $100 to help fund a Seattle or DC appearance by the act.
I know I am sleeping better. But what do we do with the brainwashed Republicans? I have talked to a few. They believed everything that Trump said. They will not listen to reason.
