Donald Trump got on stage an hour late and had a difficult time struggling through until the end. You saw the lowlights of his speech. But yes, it only got worse because that is the trajectory of this entire enterprise, down, down, ever down. If even once the nose would come up and some kind of temporary balance would be achieved, that would be something. But it doesn’t happen and so don’t wait for it. Here is the bottom line on where Trump’s campaign is and where America is, this comment of Ron Filipkowski’s. I truly could not have said this better myself.

That is it in a nutshell. It made some kind of sense in 2016 when Trump squeaked by. Hillary was hated. Unfortunate, but true. After eight years of Obama, the political pendulum was ready to swing back the other direction. Plus, Trump was an unknown quantity, talking big talk and a lot of people figured, what the hey. Push the lever, let’s see how this one flies. But none of that is true today. Not one element.

Joe Biden is hated by MAGAs, yet, but he’s not the same kind of a commodity as Hillary was. You can’t really compare the two. Plus, Biden has demonstrated what he can do. He’s got it going on. And his fiery State Of The Union address had a spark, a soul and an energy that I personally have never witnessed in one of these addresses and I can remember back when John Kennedy was doing them. As a matter of fact the closest speech I can personally recall, to match the energy of this one, was JFK’s man on the moon speech. That had a dynamism and a magic all its own.

Trump has none of that. This is what Trump has.

Now on to his closing fumbles:

I didn’t catch the part about Melania asking him to run again, but that is an unbelievable whopper. I don’t think she wants to return to that level of scrutiny and criticism. And let’s face it, if those two would get back in the White House, it would indeed signal that this country has completely lost its mind. I don’t even want to think about the chaos.

But if you read another post here today, the one with Robert DeNiro, DeNiro said that Bill Maher probably wouldn’t be on the air anymore, and “he’ll probably come after me,” which a lot of Trump’s enemies have said. Rick Wilson and Michael Cohen have both said that they would expect some kind of retribution from Trump. After all, the man plans to be Dictator For One Day, let’s take him at his word, shall we?

And I can assure you, I’ve talked to other bloggers. We’ve wondered if we would be forced off the internet, or merely harassed personally into stopping. This is not normal conversation related to a presidential election. This is conversation that takes place before a nation is ready to fall and be taken over by adversarial forces.

I pray that our better angels know enough to show this bum the back door. And I think that some judge, passing sentence on one of his cases, should demand that as part of his sentence, that Trump apologize to the Mexican people, our good neighbors to the south. Having lived most of my life in California and now in Nevada, I’ve known plenty of Mexicans, and yes, some of them illegal. They are not what Trump depicts them to be. They’re very hardworking, decent people and they deserve an apology.

  1. In the meantime, you’ve got the folks at “No Labels” actively warning that Trump’s going to win in November but, oh no, it won’t be the fault of the “No Labels” folks. No, sirree. It’ll all be the fault of the Democrats who won’t find someone better than Biden (yet, conveniently not attacking Republicans for not finding someone better than Trump, even as “No Labels” goes out of their way to say how “tired” everyone, including Republicans, is of Trump as well).

(The source of my above comment can be found at https://www.aol.com/news/no-labels-official-democrats-run-190253039.html I hope those “No Labels” folks realize that Trump will go after them for not swearing their fealty to him two months ago, especially if Trump wins. Pretending to be “neutral” ain’t gonna cut it. And they’ll deserve every moment of torturous hell that Trump puts them through, even after enabling a Trump victory.)

    • No Labels has no candidate, last that I heard and that was yesterday. Manchin said no, as did Sinema, and Nikki Haley. RFK Jr. is running as an Independent, although I suppose he could switch to No Labels. Same degree of damage, no matter what party he attaches to his name.

Do they have a candidate, do you know? Because the article I read said that nobody serious wanted to have single digits and be credited with putting Trump back in the White House.
