I was wondering when this would come out. It’s a video that had to be made, simply because the stakes are so high. We speak here of the Russian asset who is being proposed to head national security, Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard could destroy decades of hard work by exposing who’s who in the international intelligence community and don’t think that that’s not exactly what will happen. We don’t know the details of why Trump fears Putin as he does but it is no coincidence that Gabbard, a Putin mouthpiece and an Assad defender, is being considered for this key role.

Assad’s deeds were monstrous. That Gabbard can speak well of this man tells you everything you need to know. So, will the Senate confirm her? I don’t know. But what I do know is that while Trump threatened to primary every Republican House member who didn’t give him what he asked for this week, 38 of them said fung goo and stonewalled him, in essence. So Trump may find far more opposition amongst the ranks than he presumes.
I think John Thune is going to follow a McConnell-esque way of doing things and Mitch McConnell himself is still very much in the picture. Maybe I just want to believe that the Senate won’t roll over and confirm these horrible nominees. That said, we did watch the government shutdown go down to the very wire and Trump lost. He did not get his much demanded debt ceiling obliteration. He’s not happy with that.
I have no doubt that Mike Johnson’s head will be on a pike for that, but as to what control Trump can truly wield going forward, we saw him have one massive failure just in the past few days. And with co-president Elon Musk at his side, he might very well end up paralyzed.
This legislative year did not end the way Trump wanted it to. He was thwarted. And he may be alright with that. it’s entirely possible that Trump can loot the coffers and Musk can get all the government contracts he wants and they do this amidst legislative paralysis. That could in fact happen. And that may be our best case scenario.
MAGA will of course be destroyed when they don’t see the grocery prices plummet or their brown-skinned neighbors disappear but I think there’s a lot more of talk on those levels than you’re going to see of action.
We’ll see. One month from today the reins of power switch hands. May God help us.
