Y’all. I *have* to say that this PISSES ME OFF. Russia refused to agree to a ceasefire but wants to talk in Turkey (of all places) on Thursday. Russia has refused to follow any ceasefire, even its own. Russia has “conditions” to be met before agreeing to ANY ceasefire, and that’s just bullhockey. They want to go by THEIR terms to force Ukraine into something that benefits Russia, not Ukraine. I’m betting that one of those is for Ukraine to give up everything Russia has taken from them thus far. That’s not going to happen, and this war may drag on because of it.

Russia is in the wrong here, and they don’t see it that way. They are trying to “take back” something they feel belongs to them. To me, it seems like Russia is trying to rebuild the USSR. I don’t want to think about what that would mean to the rest of the world. Putin is certainly arrogant enough to think he could do it. But they didn’t expect Ukraine to fight back, and that’s a point in our favor. They didn’t think other countries would help Ukraine fight back, and they have. Ukraine is *definitely* not going to go down without a fight, and Russia didn’t expect that, either! I figure they thought they could roll in and take over Ukraine in a matter of days. They were so, so, so wrong, and it fills me with glee to think about it!

Trump, the man WHO PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE, then put pressure on *Ukraine* to agree to Russia’s offer, instead of pushing for the ceasefire. Grrrr. This is yet another example of how the man can’t make up his mind on anything. It’s ridiculous, and he is suddenly being demeaning to Zelenskyy. I don’t like it. As a matter of fact, I *detest* it. Ukraine is NOT the one in the wrong here!

After meeting in Kyiv on Saturday, Ukraine’s major European allies gave Russia an ultimatum: agree to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine by Monday or face “massive” new sanctions. Trump supported the initiative, Germany’s new chancellor Friedrich Merz said.

In a late-night address, Putin did not acknowledge the ultimatum. Ignoring the ceasefire offer, he instead proposed holding “direct talks” with Ukraine in Turkey on Thursday – something not seen since the early weeks of Moscow’s full-scale invasion in 2022.

Ukraine’s allies spent Sunday stressing that there could be no further talks before Putin agrees to an unconditional ceasefire. But Trump undermined the efforts to put pressure on Putin, saying that Ukraine should “immediately” agree to meet with Russian officials on Thursday.

“HAVE THE MEETING, NOW!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

G*ddamn, you jerk! *You* are in the wrong here! He needs to stop waffling around. Here we have yet ANOTHER example of how bad the US is looking because our so-called leader keeps changing his mind. I wish those of us who voted against him could find a way to rise up and put the pressure on *him*.

Trump’s dropping of his demand for Russia to agree to a ceasefire marks a dramatic change in approach. Last week, Trump had called for a 30-day unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine, without providing a deadline. “If the ceasefire is not respected, the US and its partners will impose further sanctions,” he warned. The European leaders in Kyiv added weight to the threat by naming Monday as a deadline.

Ya think? We may all agree that tRump wants Russia on his “side”. I’m pretty sure he’s thinking about dropping some sanctions, and that would be Very Bad. Well, Europe isn’t going to agree. That’s a point in Ukraine’s favor. After JD Vance’s “speech” earlier this year, Europe and others were already starting to ramp up to help Ukraine and themselves. I would bet they’re *still* ramping up, especially after this current Russian crap. They have made it very clear that they support Ukraine. I know this is running long. I have some more comments from the article to show you, though. To close:

Sergey Radchenko, a professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, said that Putin’s late-night offer of peace talks was an attempt to shift the pressure on Russia back onto Ukraine.

“He knows that Trump wants direct talks,” Radchenko said. “Now, by saying, ‘Look, we’re offering talks and the Ukrainians are the ones who are not agreeing,’ he is putting the ball back in Kyiv’s court.”

As well as distracting from his snubbing the ceasefire proposal, the offer allowed Putin to pose “as the peacemaker, kindly inviting Ukraine to the table,” Radchenko said. “He’s seen as taking the initiative.”

In his address, Putin said Russia does not rule out that “during these talks there will be a possibility to arrange some kind of new truce, a new ceasefire,” but stressed that the talks will aim to eliminate the “root causes” of the conflict.

Yea, pressure on Ukraine! Well, I’m hoping there is a way to shift the pressure back onto Russia. I hope Europe can find a way to do so, since Agent Orange sure as hell won’t be doing anything. Once again, he’s making the rest of us look inadequate to the rest of the world. El Presidente Imbécil is still showing how fickle he is. Please let there be a way for Ukraine to come out of this on top. I really want them to. I wish there was a way to show Zelenskyy that *some* of us here in the US support him and not the Pampers President. Please let Ukraine win. Thanks for sticking with me!

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

    • Thank you, sir! I would guess that either Poland (because Belarus is a friend of Russia) or Romania would be next. I’m not sure about Kazakhstan. That still gives him some “options”.

  1. Somehow, I knew what Cheeto had to say about this before I read the article. That doesn’t make me clairvoyant, I just know more about that filthy creature than I ever wanted to.

    • I’m not at all “insulted”. Actually, I’m glad that you confirmed I was correct in my thinking! I think all of us know more than we want to. That’s why Murf had to stop posting. He lived in El Presidente Imbecil’s head for many years and couldn’t take it any more. From what you said, I think you would agree. I appreciate the comment!

  2. Only a fool would believe that Putin is going to make any sincere attempt at ending this mess. Once again, he and trump both bailed out on these negotiations, and it was only after Putin made it clear he wasn’t coming (though trump tried to make it sound like he was the tough guy standing firm). Putin plays him every time and he scampers right behind him obeying his every decision!
