This is something else that’s new and different. It seems that Republicans just might be looking closer at Petey Boy. They’re looking at all the things he’s done thus far, and they’re not happy. We could have told them that back when he was confirmed for the position. We were screaming even back then. Now Hegseth has screwed up the military right up in the open. He’d best watch himself. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth might not be feeling comfortable about his future after a Republican senator publicly broke ranks and said that there is growing discomfort in Congress with Hegseth’s job performance.
In an interview with The Hill, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), whose threat to halt the confirmation of Donald Trump’s pick, Kevin Warsh, to head the Federal Reserve was a contributing factor leading to the DOJ to drop an investigation of current chair Jerome Powell.
Senator Tillis now seems to be turning his focus to Hegseth, a former Fox News personality.
My goodness gracious, now why could that be? Maybe because Hegseth is an imbecile, like the rest of the ‘administration’, including Trump? Hegseth is super status and appearance-conscious? He has no idea what he’s doing except trying to make the military over in *his* perceived image? Why no, Petey Boy is doing just fine. Why should he worry? /s
As The Hill’s Alexander Bolton wrote, “Senate Republicans who spoke to The Hill on the condition of anonymity say Hegseth wouldn’t be confirmed to head the Pentagon if he were renominated by Trump today,
and they say senior staff turmoil at the Defense Department under Hegseth’s leadership is a major concern.”
“I think he’s missing the mark on personnel. He has separated some of the most extraordinary generals that we’ve had in play. I don’t quite know what’s going on there,”
he explained while noting that during Hegseth’s active military career he only saw “30 or 40 people” under his command.
That is nothing like heading the Pentagon. What on earth made him think he could do this? My main guess would be ego and vanity. This is the man who insisted they put a makeup room in there. *That* is definitely vanity. He thinks he can do the job, and he can’t. Otherwise, he would not have fired so many people who were highly skilled and knowledgeable because he’s prejudiced in favor of the white male machismo that seems to be a big thing of his.
Holding back promotions of females and people of color. His racism, sexism, and anti-wokeness blind him to the people with the skills and experience he needs. And his insecurity blinds him to the fact that they are in no way stumping for his job. We can wish for someone with experience in that position. Too bad it won’t happen during Trump’s term. Grrrr.
“In some respects, maybe not as extreme, but in some respects he’s displaying the exact lack of experience that got [former Homeland Security Secretary] Kristi Noem in trouble,” he observed.
A big point of contention was Hegseth’s abrupt dismissal of Army chief of staff Randy George for many lawmakers.
“I have the greatest admiration and respect for Gen. Randy George. He’s probably one of the finest officers the United States Army has ever produced. It was a mistake for Secretary Hegseth to dismiss him,” said Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), chair of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities.
She added, “As far as the reason for his dismissal, I wouldn’t even begin to know what it was,”
Heck yes, it was a mistake! There have been many, many positive reports about General George. There has not been a single negative comment that I could find. None. Nothing. Hegseth screwed up BIG TIME on that one! He fired General George because he was paranoid, and … because he could. You have all heard me rant, so we won’t go into that again.
Here is the addition of something else interesting for you. This is from The Hill, from which the Raw Story article was derived. It’s the spokesperson for the Pentagon. The guy is full of it.
Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said Hegseth does not comment on the departures of senior officers but noted it would be difficult to reform the sprawling Defense Department without changing senior military leadership.
“Out of respect for uniformed officers, the Secretary does not comment on the nature of their departure. But we all serve at the pleasure of the President —
and the President and the Secretary deserve officers who fully and expeditiously embrace the priorities, policies, and objectives of this Administration,” Parnell told The Hill in a statement.
“It is extremely difficult to reform a department — particularly a department the size of DoW — with the same personnel who were a part of previous priorities. Necessary changes have been made and will continue to be made,” he said.
I call bullshizzle, and I might bet that you do, too. Parnell is ridiculous. How he says this crap with a straight face is a question for the ages. It boils down to Petey Boy is afraid that people will show him up and possibly replace him. And women and people of color with ranks in the military are ‘woke’ … according to Hegseth. We most certainly have used them in this stupid arse war. I’ve ranted about that too. What it all shakes out is that Hegseth is worried about his job. Being a bully, blatant sexism, racism, and making a mess of the war are not going to help him. Awwww
