They’re stressed. They’re worried. Things aren’t going their way, and it’s looking to get even worse. The GOP has not covered itself in roses, and affiliation with Trump is hurting them even more. They weren’t concerned about midterms. Now they are. Bigly. I appreciate Raw Story:
A senior Trump administration official revealed Tuesday the extent of the GOP’s “intra-party freakout” as the midterm elections draw closer amid the president’s unprecedented unpopularity among Americans, telling Zeteo that the panic is far worse than what’s seen in public.
“The bedwetting is making the whole bedroom damp,” the senior Trump official told Zeteo, speaking on the condition of anonymity. Zeteo’s Asawin Suebsaeng also paraphrased additional comments from the senior Trump official, writing they also said: “that the intra-party freakout is now worse than what you see in public view.”
Bedwetting? Ahaha! They should have been preparing. Instead, they were riding along on Trump’s coattails, and it has done them wrong. What was obvious to us was not obvious to them. It’s getting worse since all the things put in the Big Ugly Bill are taking effect. The war isn’t helping, either. Trump won’t let *any* ships through his blockade. His base is losing its mind about the illegal war.
President Donald Trump recently achieved the lowest approval rating of his political career, with a University of Massachusetts Amherst poll revealing that “only 33% of Americans” approved of his job performance.
Just days later, another collection of polls showed that Trump’s net approval had sunk to -21.4, the lowest of any past president at the same point in their term since the 1940s.
Trump has also seen a “complete collapse” in support from non-college educated white voters, a voter bloc that has historically been his strongest voter base.
Analysts have also predicted that the president’s cratering support would significantly hurt Republicans this November as Trump’s brand becomes “toxic” at the ballot box.
It’s clobbering Republicans left, right, up, down, and sideways. With that low of an approval rating, they would be better off to take a long, hard look at their areas and figure out what to run on that’s not related to Trump, if there is such a thing. It may not be possible, in which case they’re screwed. A very few of them are decent lawmakers and voices of sanity in Congress, but only a very few. The rest are slobbering sycophants (see: Squeaker Mike Jones).
“In their hopes of forestalling a historic midterms implosion, the GOP elite is praying (sometimes literally) for cheaper gas,” Suebsaeng wrote in Zeteo’s report. “On Sunday, Trump’s energy secretary, Chris Wright, went on TV to say that Americans may have to expect gas to remain above $3 per gallon into next year.
In response to hearing about this, one of the GOP’s most prominent national operatives only had this to message me: ‘HOLY S— JUST SAY YOU LIKE LOSING.’ So, things are going great.”
This is where a “laughing so hard you’re crying” emoticon would come in handy, because if we aren’t already, we should be about that line. Just say you like losing. They’re going to have to and need to apply that phrase to themselves, because midterms (which I am firmly convinced they *will* happen, no matter for Trump’s machinations) are coming, and they should run for the hills. Democrats aren’t stopping or resting on their laurels, so to speak, and neither should we.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

“…figure out what to run on that’s not related to Trump, if there is such a thing.” If they did find such a thing, Trump would stick his boogerdy nose in, and screw it all up. Felonious Donald J(ackass) Trump, 79!, all-around despicable thug and sexist pig, wrecks everything he touches, including people, ETTD!
Oh, well said sir! Yes, agreed, if they found anything unrelated Trump would try, and and possibly do, to twist it in his name. When we will get rid of this imbecile? It won’t be soon enough.
Uh, knock knock, any Democrats listening? If so, do NOT get complacent. If you do, google “Prime Minister Pierre Polievre”. A year before the last Canadian federal election and Justin Trudeau’s polls were where Trumps are now, and EVERYONE was expecting PM Polievre. Then Trump, then Carney, and poof – A Liberal majority government. Remember, the average voter’s memory lasts about as long as it takes to go to the bathroom. Chris Wright is absolutely correct in creating LOW expectations, so if the price is lower than what he says now, he can say “Look at the great job my bestest in history of forever boss did in getting gas to ONLY $2.95/gallon by the election”, and people will CHEER!!! And remember, America is a FUNDAMENTALLY conservative country and while AOC and Bernie Sanders have their supporters who are as religiously attached to them as Trump’s are to him, it doesn’t say anything about quantum of supporters. In short, the midterms are looking good, but poop can change in one split-instant. And sure as hell, the 2028 presidential is by no means in the bag. Do NOT get complacent!!!!!!!!!! And I still say the best Dem presidential candidate is the anti-woke, right down the middle neither left nor right, John Fetterman. I TRULY think he can win, but the Dems will not put him up because he’s not “pure’ enough. They sound a whole lot like the proponents of the idiotic concept of RINO’s. Same ignorant-childish-sheer-stupidity. Different party. Complacency kills. SMART hard work has a chance to win.
