Finally, something to giggle about, although it might not be for half the country. Trump asked “his” people to watch a certain person on Fox News in the evening, and it was a disaster. It had the opposite effect of what Dingbat Donnie expected, and it’s expected to drag on Republicans for the midterms. All together now: awwwww. Can you see my crocodile tears? I can see yours. *cough* It’s almost ridiculous how they are messing up their chances. Every day, some new event reflects badly on one or more members of the GOP. It seems they still haven’t learned to do two things: think overall, and think before they speak. Far too many of them seem to be following Trump’s bad example of blurting something out before considering it. My gratitude to Raw Story:

Former Reagan administration official and conservative media personality Mark Levin delivered a monologue Saturday night that critics say may have “single-handedlydoomed the GOP in the upcoming midterms, and possibly damaged President Donald Trump’s legacyfor eternity.” On Saturday afternoon, Trump urged his followers on social media to watch Levin on Fox News later that same night. During the broadcast, Levin argued in favor of deploying U.S. boots on the ground in Iran, saying such a move would be necessary to seize the nation’s supply of uranium, a key element in the production of nuclear weapons. However, Levin omitted the consensus among experts that Iran’s uranium stockpiles are not enriched to levels capable of producing nuclear weapons.

Ewpsie. Well, now, that was certainly not the smartest thing to say. The vast majority of the people of America do NOT approve of this war and do NOT want us *in* this war. He’s saying that we need boots on the ground to go for the uranium. Erm. We’re probably more concerned about oil and gas, and our costs skyrocketing, than having our servicepeople go into Iran for uranium. I won’t get started again, but there are a huge number of problems facing us on the ground there.

Levin’s remarks sparked immediate backlash among critics, some of whom declared the broadcast to be a defining moment in the lead-up to the 2026 midterm elections. “Mark Levin may single-handedly lose the midterms for Republicans and destroy Trump’s legacy for eternity,” wrote X user “TheWuhanClan,” a popular political commentator and self-described war veteran to their more than 20,000 followers. “The war in Iran is the stupidest thing they could have done.”

Destroy his legacy? Oooo, we will certainly take that! His legacy is gilt, marble, concrete, and ego. Many of us would be perfectly happy to decimate his legacy. Personally, I hope the ballroom never gets built so someone could do something better with the area. A new East Wing would be great! Of course, there are other things I have ranted about before, so we’ll just stop right there.

Others, like geopolitical commentator Brian Allen, criticized Trump for what he characterized as the blatant use of Levin to promote his unpopular war against Iran, of which a majority of Americans disapprove. “Trump just told Americans to watch Mark Levin tonight,” Allen wrote in a social media post on X. “Levin’s message: we need boots on the ground in Iran to seize their uranium. The President of the United States is using a cable TV host to prepare the public for a ground invasion.”

Okay, so the article discussed some of the same things I did. Oops. But the last sentence is the most intriguing. More than one person figured out exactly that. TV host for a ground invasion. Bad call, Disgusting Donnie. He should know by now how much the war is hated. And he should know by now that he shouldn’t have started it with Israel. And he should know by now how precarious a place the GOP is in for midterms. And even if he knows these things, does he care? Hail, no.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. Seize their enriched uranium – check. Sending in our best – check. Under-estimating your enemy – check and check. Iran is prepared. We will lose those “best” in massive numbers.

    • Someone told me that their enriched uranium is mostly “dust”, and they don’t have that much. So going after something that’s such a small quantity is stupid. They *might* be able to make some bombs, but that isn’t going to be in the near future, mostly due to technology.

Losing our best is absolutely correct. We’re not going to be able to “replace” them for awhile. So, it will then be our second best and third best and …. how many people are now deciding to *not* enlist?

      What a debacle.
