There are bad ideas and then there are ludicrous ideas and then there are utterly ridiculous ideas that are so awful they play out as unintentional comedy, and this one falls into category three. The Democrats took quite the shellacking in November and a calm mind and steady hand is needed at the helm. And this candidate is not known for either. We speak of Marianne Williamson, who ran for president twice and hit 4% in New Hampshire, whoopee. And she wants to run the Democratic party? OMFG. Let’s just all go stand in the Nevada desert and see if any of the old nukes are left over from the 50’s. Put it this way: the day Williamson helms the DNC is the day I register as an Independent.
Williamson holds herself out as a miracle worker and Oprah Winfrey cosigns on this. Winfrey bought a thousand copies of Williamson’s book, A Return To Love: Reflections On a Court In Miracles and Winfrey said she herself experienced 157 miracles.
Now my cynical mind tells me, “If Williamson could create a miracle, why didn’t she create one for herself?” And the truth is she’s a New Age huckster. There are a lot of them out there.
Williamson is a year older than I am so she came out of the hippy dippy 60’s and 70’s. I went to college in Boulder, Colorado so believe me, I knew that scene up one side and down the other.
The dead last thing that the Democratic party needs is this kind of blithering magical thinking. We need strategic, real world tactics. Williamson wouldn’t know the real world if a planetarium collapsed on her.
Ms. Williamson, a onetime spiritual adviser to Oprah Winfrey, said in an open letter to the committee membership that the Democratic Party needed to understand the “emotional” force of President-elect Donald J. Trump’s appeal and “create the energy to counter it.”
Ms. Williamson, 72, most likely faces long odds in her bid for party chair. A number of party officials, including the former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley, are jostling for the job. The current chair, Jaime Harrison, is not seeking re-election. Ms. Williamson is the first woman to formally enter the race.
In an interview, she blamed an “insider-club mentality” for the Democratic Party’s disappointing performance in November, when Republicans won control of the White House and Congress.
I 100% disagree with this. There were many reasons for November’s loss but chief amongst them was that Joe Biden waited way too long to get out of the race. Had there been a Democratic primary, we would have seen if Kamala rose to the top, or maybe Josh Shapiro, J.D. Pritsker, somebody. Kamala did a masterful job being thrown into the race at the 11th hour but clearly it wasn’t enough. I don’t think this is the result of “insider-club mentality” so much as poor judgement on Joe Biden’s part.
In Nevada, she finished behind “none of these candidates.” She later threatened to try to challenge Vice President Kamala Harris’s nomination at the party’s convention after Mr. Biden left the race.
The Democratic Party’s 448 committee members are expected to vote for the next chair on Feb. 1.
Other candidates include Nate Snyder, who worked in the Department of Homeland Security under Mr. Biden and President Barack Obama; Ken Martin, the leader of Minnesota’s Democratic Party; Ben Wikler, the chair of Wisconsin’s Democratic Party; and State Senator James Skoufis of New York.
When you’re finishing behind “none of these candidates” that is a sign. Marianne Williamson is the Democrats’ Kari Lake. The sooner she decides to bail out of pollitics the better off she and we will be.

Well, not to be indelicate but, my Hubby has always loved the way she handles her crystals!! 🔮🧙♀️ If you know what I mean! 🤣
Why not just focus on the ‘rapture’ so we can skip death and get the hell out of this hell? There is one species on this planet that just refuses to deal with reality…us.
She, like so many political creatures these days, is addicted to attention. No policies, no stands, no intent to do the greater good, just attention for self. We see this daily with tRump saying any old nonsense just so he gets to carry the day’s headlines. I’m so sick of these self-serving a**holes.
Williamson is a moron. And I say this as a Wiccan who reads tarot cards. I.am 75 and came of age during the hippy years. But I read cards for insight into where my head is, not expecting advice.
Lake cannot even figure out what she stands for and which party agrees with her. There is a,reason Gallegos won.
And I agree; Joe, whom I dearly love, waited too.late. We needed a primary. Josh Shapiro would have Bern a great canduitate. Still could be in 4 years when his second term.is up.
Williamson would only be preferable to.my Congressman, Scott Perry. Hell,,Homer Pyle would be.
I’m from Mayberry(Mt.Airy). Gomer was a sweet character with a wonderful singing voice. I’d take someone with a heart over these lunatics any day of the week.
