We were once told by what is now the Bezos Bugle that Democracy Dies In Darkness. Well, get ready to witness democracy gasp its last like a fish out of water because you’ve got a front row seat. If you’re one of the 330 million Americans alive at this time in history, you’re seeing the Ministry of Truth Trump Administration go from following the rules of previous administrations (including Trump 1.0) to an information blackout status: to wit, a massive purge of the transcripts of all of Trump’s public appearances has taken place on the White House website. Only the Inaugural Address is left. Evidently somebody doesn’t want the average Joe to be able to find, “I decided to shove it up their ass,” or “You’re a shit vice president (first said in October, 2024, then repeated) and other Trump bon mots. There are plenty more distasteful examples where that came from.
CNN, the same network that is pushing Biden cognitive decline conspiracies, reported:
HuffPost senior White House correspondent S.V. Date, who observed that the administration was cutting back on Trump transcripts earlier this spring, wrote last week that the White House was “excluding many of his most unhinged comments” from its website. In response, White House communications director Steven Cheung told Date to “stop beclowning yourself.”
Now the transcripts have been removed altogether, with one exception: Trump’s inaugural address. Stenographers employed by the government still record and transcribe all of Trump’s remarks, including his interactions with the media. Those records just aren’t being posted.
No more readouts of the president’s calls with world leaders are provided. No more transcripts of government agency press conferences and briefings are posted.
The public and those who report on what the government is doing, no longer have an official source to check the remarks of the president or members of his administration.
A blanket of darkness has covered public transparency.
The White House knows that the number of people who watch Trump’s comments live at any given time is a tiny fraction of the US population.
The administration has purged transcripts because they don’t want the American people to know what Trump is saying.
They don’t want Trump’s comments to be widely known because more often than not, the signs of Trump’s decline are present in his remarks.
It isn’t just the contradictory and evasive statements that Trump makes regularly. All too often, Trump makes no sense and doesn’t seem to know what is going on around him.
As a reminder, the media freaked out when the Biden administration edited a transcript. Trump purged all transcripts and stopped releasing new ones, and there have been no book deals signed about it, or 24/7 cable news outrage.
The situation is a joke. The public transparency of the presidency is being trashed, and the so-called guardians who are supposed to hold those in power to account are talking about the previous president.
You see the obvious references being made here to Jake Tapper’s book Original Sin, and what a supposed “cover up” that describes. This cover up of Trump’s is far more blatant and vastly more sinister than any supposed “plot” on the part of the Biden White House to conceal what was happening with Joe, but you don’t see any CNN anchors jumping right on it and writing a memoir, now do you?
This is nothing less than a horrifying development. The White House website and all government websites, have been accessible to everybody, 24/7 at our fingertips. Now, it looks like the White House is indeed turning into the Ministry of Truth. They’re going to rewrite Big Brother’s every utterance and repost them — or, the YouTube videos are it. Since people soon won’t know how to read, the University Of YouTube may be the only place for the average person to get information.
You recall a few weeks ago when the White House put up a Matt Drudge like platform, White House Wire? Google it and weep. Or hit the blue link I just posted. This is the new look of governmental accountability — at least while Trump is in office. It’s all right-wing propaganda style “information posting.” And check out Twit/X’s version of White House wire. It consists of laudatory Trump videos.
I never thought when I read Orwell’s 1984 in the early 60’s that I would live to see it begin to manifest for real in the United States government. Such thoughts were not possible in the 1960’s, the wonder years. We were the good guys. Now we see how easily American exceptionalism can be replaced by authoritarianism.
Like any deadly disease the question is: how far advanced will this get? I wish I had the answer.
Whatever happened to Manifest Destiny? The best laid plans of mice and men…no King answers to peasants. No ‘god’ either.
Manifest destiny isn’t what it used to be, I guess. If Trump had an actual “mandate” things might be different.

I’ll say again, Tapper is a butt-hurt f**kwad. Trump started campaigning for a second term from the time he got home to FL. His signature rallies had less attendees (far less most of the time) and people were walking out in droves after a half-hour or so of his ramblings. Clearly HE (Trump) was in decline, often shuffling around and even noticeably dragging a leg at times, leaning (sometimes hard) on his podium for balance and did people including Tapper go after him the way Tapper’s going after Biden? NO. Tapper is a despicable piece of sh*t. He and CNN have tried this past week using Biden’s CANCER to boost ratings and book sales. And Trump gets a pass. I still say staffers not wanting to deal with cleaning up the verbal gaffes Biden was known for long before he was President over-handled him and hid him away too much, which in turn decreased his ability to spar with reporters although I keep coming back to the NATO summit in DC and that prime time press conference when Biden SCHOOLED Tapper and others on all manner of complex topics.
