Holy Sleuthing, Batman. Now it’s possible to detect fraud in an election that hasn’t even finished taking place yet. How do you do that? Time travel to the future? Or just make up lies as you go along. As expected, Donald Trump weighed in on the California recall and he’s setting the stage to cry foul.

Two things here: One, this could help the Democrats far more than the Republicans, the Georgia runoffs being Exhibit “A” to that proposition. Two, the constant beating of the tom toms, election fraud, election fraud has a net effect of undermining democracy. So while it’s good for Gavin Newsom in the long haul it’s very very bad that faith in the integrity of the elections process is being continually eroded.
And doing that full bore is none other than Sidney Powell, reporting on how the California election is already “marred by fraud.”

Naturally, she doesn’t say what county and it would be nice to have the name of just one individual. We don’t even need to talk to the 70% of the electorate who claim to be disenfranchised, let’s just start with one single human being. We can’t, because this factoid only exists in Powell’s imagination. I wonder, is she paid per lie? I’m not sure what her motivation is to keep on with this election fraud charade when the Sword of Damocles in the form of Dominion Voting Systems is hanging over her head.
As to Larry Elder, he started out saying that he had faith that he would win and then that devolved into a website which provided a portal for people to report election fraud. Shades of Mike Lindell. Right Wing Watch:
But by Monday, Elder had begun promoting a website on his campaign page that declared the election over already, seemingly conceding defeat to Newsom. The website provided a portal to report instances of alleged voter fraud as well as a petition to investigate the results of the election, declaring that California’s elected officials “allow thieves to steal amidst the dead of night and cheat our ballot box.”
“As is the case, we implore you…our fellow citizens…to join us in this fight as you are able, primarily by signing our petition demanding a special session of the California legislature to investigate and ameliorate the twisted results of this 2021 Recall Election of Governor Gavin Newsom,” the petition read.
The petition continued: “Statistical analyses used to detect fraud in elections held in 3rd-world nations (such as Russia, Venezuela, and Iran) have detected fraud in California resulting in Governor Gavin Newsom being reinstated as governor.”
Polls close in California at 9 p.m. and the results of the election will not be determined for weeks, but win or lose, the Republican candidate for governor is already following in the footsteps of Trump, ensuring that the GOP “stolen” election narrative lives on.

Now good Republiqanons would have done it properly – restricted voting to people who would have voted the right way, restricted access to polling stations in problematic districts to between 3:30 and 3:45 am, stood with camers filming how people voted and accidentally jamming the levers on the voting machines or jamming the slots in a the ballot boxes.

So Sydney Powell has become involved in the CA recall election claiming there is fraud? It pains me to say this is one of those “twice a day even a stopped clock is right” things but the very fact she’s involved herself means there is in fact fraud involved in the election.

(Her lawyers in the Dominion case are shitting their pants trying to figure out how quickly they can disassociate themselves from her. Probably. There are after all some very good lawyers who will competently represent anyone for enough money even though they know they are going to lose. All they care about is doing a good enough job to meet the standards of the court and not doing anything that will get THEM in trouble with the judge. One poll worker, in West Hollywood, got kicked out because of wearing a Trump hat and mask and a “Where’s Hunter” shirt, even after being informed he needed to hide them. Apparently he got nasty with the supervisor and other workers.
I’m not surprised Larry Elder is calling fraud before the results are in, since he already knows he’s going to lose. Standard Trump logic.

The polls in CA close in 15 minutes. The mail-in votes have been processed already.
I saw Elder being interviewed on the NBC Nightly News Monday evening and the reporter flat-out asked him if Newsom were recalled and Elder received the most votes of any of the “candidates” listed on the ballot, would he still claim that there was fraud and the fuckwad said it was important to investigate all fraud.
Of course, I’m betting if the results ended up favoring him, he wouldn’t have been talking about any fraud and he would be crowing at his “resounding victory.”
I just cannot believe there were any Californians who were so damned stupid that they would believe any Republican would do a better job on the “issues” they claimed to be important to them. They were mentioning issues like “homelessness” and “income inequality” and “rising crime.” Republicans don’t care about the homeless (they’d just rather sweep them out of the picture) or income inequality (for starters, they oppose any increase in the minimum wage and they only support tax cuts that benefit the wealthy while offering the truly poor little to no real relief) and the only answer they seem to have for crime is “let the police run rampant and let private citizens go around armed to the teeth with zero oversight.”
Elder says now that the election wasn’t rigged. (He’d be laughed out of the state if he didn’t – it was 2-1 against the recall.)
When all the dust settles in these bursts of Republican idiocy, they NEVER seem to learn that the fickle finger of fate already has their name and address, waiting for the DOJ/FBI/DHS to clear their involvement on EVERY level, finding all the trash in their past, looking in every nook and cranny … their self-imposed exposure will find ANY optic that points to the possibility of fraud and crimes against our country and democracy …
In the past and currently, those pointers are finding involvements with trafficking’s, money laundry at the highest levels, those findings and others will sink even more Congress critters and the evil lawyers will be sent home to pout without active employment …
