If you think that these bozo evangelicals are merely a joke and not worth worrying about, let me share this with you: I was shocked when Trump won in 2016, like the rest of the world. And I wondered how something like this could have happened in America. Subsequent to that, I began watching the videos that Right Wing Watch puts up and reading about the right-wing activities that they document. It was an eye opener. I realized then, that had I been in touch with what was really happening in this country, what the right-wingers of all stripes were saying but particularly their pastors, I would have seen all of this coming. I would have understood the appeal of Trump to the ignorant and the disgruntled.

So with that in mind, take two minutes and listen to this. Because this is what “they’re” listening to. Who are they? The MAGAs. The people who live in rural areas and get news and information from Fox News, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, all of those characters. To them this is real. And they can take that unreality to the ballot box the same as you or me.

Putting the grifting clown back in office is in no way synonymous with “turning the country back to God and the Constitution.” What is laughable that is Trump is the closest thing to an anti-Christ that we’ve ever seen in our politics but somehow he gets the endorsement of the White Christians.

And it does make some kind of perverted sense. The evangelicals in this country have been subsumed for the most part by the prosperity consciousness thieves. And they absolutely are in this game for the same reason as Trump: money and power. There is not a drop of Christian blood anywhere in their collective veins, they’re in this for profit.

And yes, it is mesmerizing that anybody can be this stupid. But there you have it. While you’re here, take a look at this. Here we “learn” that the churches won the Revolutionary War.

Again, this what the MAGAs and a lot of America is listening to. How many people are believing this, I have no idea. But there are enough scary people in both chambers of Congress right now to make the obvious point that we in many ways a kakistocracy, government by the least qualified and fit.

And now they want to bring Trump back for a second term — except it won’t be a second term, it will be for life. And America won’t be America anymore.

  1. I’ve never seen so many people who call themselves Christians… even Pastors & other clergy, yet are so eager to book their first-class passage to HELL. Yet they’ve hitched their wagons to a flagrant CONMAN & CRIMINAL, who LIES 24/7, was IMPEACHED TWICE & now has been INDICTED 4 TIMES & FACES 91 FELONY COUNTS on a combination of State & Federal charges. DON THE CON faces some hefty prison time when convicted & the mounting evidence & witnesses against him seems to pretty much assure that end.
To those who call themselves Christians, yet are misguided & have been led astray by the Charlatan we call DON THE CON T. RUMP, I remind…Ye cannot serve both God & Mammon. Right now you are leaning heavily toward MAMMON, which will lead to only one end. HELL & DESTRUCTION… either physically or spiritually. This i the man you are choosing to support & serve.

  2. I received a degree in Religion from UNC-CH studying with scholars that had taught at Ivy League universities previously. These ‘self taught’ charlatans are grifters, fleecing their flocks like the tax collectors and money changers at the temple. They serve money, hypocrisy and lies…three things the gospel writers claimed Jesus railed against time and again. They really DON’T believe in their own teaching that the ‘God’ of Abraham who is all knowing, ever present, and all powerful, will judge us all in eternity. They follow the devil according to the gospel of John, as Jesus is reported to describe him in John 8:44. He is reported in more than one gospel as saying ‘many will be deceived’. Sounds about right from where I stand. I just never expected it would be tens of millions no matter what evil they know about. It’s not ignorance. It’s inexplicable evil as all true evil is I suppose.

    • You know, it’s a pity that there’s not some sort of legal requirement that ANYONE who wishes to start up a church or enter the ministry MUST pass certain tests or standards in order to actually, you know, preach.
In most states, if you want to cut someone’s hair and get paid, you have to get a license and show that you’re qualified, that you’ve met some state-dictated standards for doing such work. Now, bartenders don’t usually need to have any specific qualifications but their employers aren’t going to keep people who can’t make a margarita or daiquiri or who pour double shots but charge for a single or who serve obviously inebriated customers.
I don’t really take issue with the guys who go to legitimate seminaries or colleges and get REAL degrees or obtain some level of official backing but it seems that most of the televangelists don’t actually have any actual degree in religious studies or any kind of sanction from an authority (I know the Baptist churches tend to be completely autonomous–there’s no real “governing body” that oversees ministers–but even they have some level of bestowing legitimacy to their churches and ministers).

    • Great list! Of course the christo-fascists don’t care what the Bible says…they use it as a weapon and ignore the teachings/warnings because they are nonbelievers. They believe in material comfort, power, and money! As reported in the gospels, Jesus said ” you’ll know a tree by its fruit.”
