I wonder if young Mr. Trump knows what he’s getting into. So far the press has been respectful of his minor status and nobody has given him a hard time. However, Politico is reporting that Barron Trump is now an at-large delegate and will be at the July GOP national convention, along with his half-siblings. Great. Welcome to the club. I had hoped, I guess naively, that Barron had some clue who and what his father is and that he would choose to separate himself from all that. Nope. Looks like he’s a Trump. And when you’re a Trump you’re a Trump all the way, from your first lying grift to your last press pool spray.
Barron Trump hasn’t graduated high school yet. But he’s already headed into the political big leagues.
The Republican Party of Florida on Wednesday night picked the 18-year-old youngest son of former President Donald Trump as one of the state’s at-large delegates to the Republican National Convention, per a copy of the results viewed by POLITICO.
The state party also selected other Trump children as delegates, including Eric Trump as its delegation chair — meaning he’ll place his father’s name in for the nomination — and Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany Boulos, formerly Trump, and her husband Michael Boulos as other at-large delegates.
A Trump campaign official said Barron “is very interested in our nation’s political process.”
Donald Trump recently lamented that he wouldn’t be able to see Barron Trump graduate high school given his trial in Manhattan involving hush-money payments to an adult film actress, but the judge relented to allow him to attend next week’s ceremony at Oxbridge Academy in suburban West Palm Beach. Barron Trump hasn’t announced what his plans are for after graduation.
And Donald won’t be there for Barron’s graduation because he’ll be in Minnesota at a fundraiser.
And the Daily Mail is reporting that Barron Trump and a pal ran a golf cart into a “Secret Service kiosk” whatever that is. Good. So he’s a careless asshole like the rest of his family.Fits right in.
And – perhaps more ominously for the former President’s Democratic opponents – he’s also expressed an interest in following in his 77-year-old father’s footsteps.
‘Barron is handsome, tall – taller even than his father – and very knowledgeable for someone his age. He’s also far more politically interested than people realize,’ an insider told DailyMail.com.
‘I see all the attributes of a future President if he has the appetite for it. And why not? He has the Trump genes.’
You can hear Melania’s voice in the background can’t you? “Eeef yur azzhole fathur can do eet, you can do eet.” Let’s see how this all works out. My spidey sense is telling me that this is a set up for a hell of a rude awakening. But maybe that would be good for Barron. Time to come out of the bubble and grow up. Barron has used his newfound freedom to schmooze a cadre of high-profile conservative figures, recently inviting the Iranian-American business mogul Patrick Bet-David to Mar-a-Lago.
Bet-David, worth an estimated $450 million, was impressed enough to tell listeners of his PDB podcast: ‘For an hour and a half we just watched Barron run dinner with stories, entertainment. Oh my God. Everything.’
He described his young host as ‘sharp, funny, sarcastic, tough – not weak.’ In another clip posted to TikTok, Bet-David, 45, praised Barron’s good manners and humility, calling him a ‘freaking stud of a kid.’
I’m so glad he’s so charming and knowledgeable and possessed of what it takes to prepare for a political career. Maybe an education would help with that, or he’ll do it all on charm and Daddy’s dime? Assuming Daddy’s got a dime left when all is said and done. I do not envy him finding out who his family really is in the world and what people really think of his parents. Wow.
I would say that I feel sorry for him but we are all in charge of our decisions. And he is 18 now. He can sign contracts, marry, vote, all of it. So if he’s making a choice to follow his asshole father into MAGA politics, hey, let’s just see if he feels the same way come this time next year. Or maybe he figures he’ll be the ambassador to Slovenia this time next year, who knows?

I’m going to take a wait and see attitude about part of this, specifically Melania’s reaction and whether Barron plays a token role like Tiffany did before taking a job at the Trump Org or being more like the other Trumps kids. The spawn from Trump’s first marriage were active on the trail. It’s well documented Marla Maples tried really hard to steer Tiffany away from Trump World. A “maintain relationships with your siblings if they treat you okay but watch your back because they will NEVER consider you equal to them. And stay as far away from your father as you can. Do you REALLY want him thinking pedophile thoughts about you like he does with Ivanka and worse, talking publicly about it?” type guidance.
Marla seems devastated it didn’t take. Tiffany seemed almost eager to jump over to the dark side after law school. Even having an office right off the bat and only having to work 60 or so hours a week as a junior associate at a top DC white collar firm for a few years before getting a nice office and on a track to early partnership AND only having to put in 50-60 hours a week was more work than she wanted to do. When Trump dangled a much easier job, nicer office and more money Tiffany jumped at it.
With the financial pressure the Trump Org is under and actual financial monitoring I’ll bet she’s already starting to regret her choice. She might have even put out feelers to private firms for something like was once available to her after law school – and been rebuffed. She’s covered in the Trump stench now. Did she try to warn Barron? Hmmm.
But again I go back to Melania’s fierceness in keeping Barron out of the spotlight, and even after Trump was out of the WH the press respected that Presidential kid zone of privacy. If Barron had just lain low and gone off to college she could have kept him in that bubble. But if she thinks that now that Barron is getting into the political game he’s going to get the consideration he’s gotten she’s in for a rude awakening, as is Barron. However, it’s possible Melania didn’t want this and might try to get her son to walk if back. If he does so quickly, with a statement about deciding it would be better to get a college picked and settled into college life this fall instead of being out campaigning it might fly. Tick Tock kid because the clock will strike midnight soon on that option.
Your sperm donor might not (probably won’t) show up and shit all over your h.s. graduation but as of this announcement you’ll get peppered with questions about why ole dad is there, and how quickly you’ll be joining him on Trump Force One for events like he’s attending instead of attending your graduation. And whether since you’re not doing much you might show up in NYC to attend his trial!
Good to see Tiffany shed the Trump moniker. She may be the smartest of the kids.

I’m guessing Barron will be as mesmerized by all the power and money floating around him as any 18-year-old would be, and it won’t be long before he’s as corrupted by it as the rest of his family. I doubt that he stands a chance of rising above the swamp he was born into, which is unfortunate.
