Here we go again. Our latest contestant for the Moron Is Wrong! Is [drumroll] RFK Jr! He’s been quiet for awhile, so we have to reintroduce him to the people of America. Right now we’re holding a press conference in a new development. Come onstage, sir. It’s good to see you. My compliments to Raw Story:
The internet mocked Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and officials after they dodged a reporter’s question during a press conference on Monday, refusing to discuss screwworms. Kennedy and other officials from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Education announced that 19 medical schools in the United States had signed the Trump administration’s Nutrition Education Pledge. During the press conference in Washington, D.C., a reporter asked about the flesh-eating parasite outbreak.
Wow, these folks should have expected questions about that. The internet noticed that Kennedy and the other Trump administration officials were less than thrilled by the question. Isn’t this part of HHS? Or does he not want to deal with something he should have been paying attention to in the first place? Those things are nasty. Don’t look them up if you are squeamish. It looks like he dropped the ball so hard that it shattered.
“Thank you, Secretary Kennedy and Under Secretary Kent. You both talked about federal funding for the medical schools. What happens if they don’t meet the 48-hour federal funding requirement … and also, Secretary Kennedy, if you can answer this question. What would the CDC be prepared to do if there is a human case of the new world screwworm?” the reporter asked. The internet noticed that Kennedy and the other Trump administration officials were less than thrilled by the question. “RFK Jr and his cronies refuse to take a question about screwworm during a press conference,” journalist Aaron Rupar, who has more than 1.1 million followers, wrote on X.
We can always count on Mr. Rupar both for news and comments. He is so far above me I can’t really see it. But ha! They refused to take a question. They aren’t paying attention to the news. They should have been on this when the word came out that they had appeared. I did some research about the things until I finally got squicked. I feel really bad for the first human to get one. RFK Jr will really be called on the carpet at that point. And he’ll have no idea what he should do because he’s an imbecile and he gutted the CDC. That was a *very* bad thing to do. We may need them. Make sure to say anti-vaxxer nonsense needs to be thrown away. Can you imagine if this set had to deal with Covid?
“I mean we know he’s cool with brain worms and dead animals and with screwing so seems natural he’d be cool with screwworms,” virologist Dr. Angela Rasmussen, who has more than 501,000 followers, wrote on X. //// “All the attention on the screwworm is making RFK Jr.’s brainworm jealous,” progressive account Missing The Point, which has more than 33,000 followers, wrote on Bluesky. //// “Interesting that @SecKennedy didn’t take the opportunity to highlight all the work @US_FDA has been doing on screwworm. Perhaps, as per @SherylNYT reporting, he’s out of the loop and unaware. But he should know. And in case you are curious,” Sarah Despres, a public health expert and advocate, wrote on X. Despres also shared updates from the FDA involving its current animal drugs and additional information about the parasitic fly and how public health experts have responded.
Scorched! Brainworm got jealous. Ahahahaha. Also, remember he took his kids to swim in a polluted creek. Nice-looking place, too. When you really look at everything, he is painfully out of his depth. Since his depth is up to his knees, he’s that way on a lot of things. Seems to me he’s one of the worst ones in the Trump ‘cabinet’. Unfortunately, we have to wait for Kra$h and Petey Boy to get gone before he’ll look at Jr. Some day our prince will come … and kick the butts and more for this maladministration.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
