Here’s hoping you folks enjoy this one! This gentleman was a guest on MS NOW and laid it out over Hegseth. His respect for the man is less than zero, even though that’s impossible to do. He was a bit excitable, but for good reason. On to the good part! With appreciation to Raw Story:

Retired United States Army Lieutenant General Mark Hertling did not give MS NOW host Jackie Alemany much of a chance to ask about comments made by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about Russian involvement in the Iran war on Saturday morning. Instead, he jumped the gun, talked over her, and hammered Hegseth, whom he dismissively referred to as a “former Fox host” earlier. Brought on to address the Pentagon’s highly criticized war propaganda videos, Alemany shared with him a clip of Hegseth in an upcoming “60 Minutes” report, blowing off reports that the Russians are helping Iran target American interests.

I’m not going to watch it, bad newsperson that I am. I like my blood pressure exactly where it is, thankyouverymuch. It’s going up as I age and doesn’t need any outside assistance. But blowing off reports about *Russia* helping Iran? Russia isn’t our ally, as much as Trump sucks him o** … er, sucks up to him. That war in Ukraine is still going on, and the Iran war is putting Ukraine in a world of hurt. But anyhow, I really can’t handle the idea of Petey Boy’s babbling. It’s difficult enough to read things. Plus, I just detest the man. He’s full of it. He’s far too full of it. Like all of Trump’s nominees, I was dubious from the get-go.

With Hegseth saying, “I’m not worrying about that,” Hertling stopped Alemany in her tracks by blurting, “Jackie, that’s a sidestep, and I’m going to tackle it before you even ask the question. I’m sorry.” “But it’s infuriating to me as a soldier,” he continued. “I mean, I can remember not so long ago when Secretary Hegseth was a Fox News anchor, and there were reports of Russia providing information that killed soldiers in Afghanistan, and he went off the charts on President Biden. We now have a situation where Russia is contributing to the intelligence that can lead to the potential danger of U.S. forces with Iran.”

Ok, that’s worrisome. We should have guessed it already, but now Retired Gen. Hertling has laid it out there in the open. It’s hard to see why we forget about Russia. They most certainly know how to work social media over here, and they must have hundreds of accounts across the platforms. That may include Truth Social, for all we know. Russians on the president’s personal Xitter. Wonderful. And a reminder that Tulsi is definitely pro-Russia. D*mn.

“As a military commander, I tell you, you look at all things within an area of operation. And if Russia is passing intelligence, and there are indicators that they are to Iran, and it’s helping them to target U.S. military facilities, they should stand up against that,” he added. Hertling later apologized to Alemany, and she laughed it off as a “pre-emptive strike.”

BAM. Thank you, sir, for saying it out loud. I’ll admit I hadn’t gotten that far, but I was fairly certain Russia was doing *something*. But with Tulsi likely to pass along information, Pootie would know *exactly* what to send to Iran. THAT is a problem. I’m not sure if it can be fixed. As it is, it’s too late to do much of anything about what Russia has and what they’ve passed along. Our “government” is making me more and more nuts every d*mn day.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. The Mad King has decided to deal with civilian deaths in Iran, US casualties, and the possibility of Iranian reprisals on US territory just the way he dealt with the Covid pandemic: ignore all the ugly facts and pretend they will just go away. I’m a Boomer, so my memory isn’t as sharp as it used to be. Remind me — how did that method work out in 2020?
