And speaking of J6, here’s something else the maladministration is doing. This one truly is almost unbelievable. We don’t want this to happen, but it’s already started. These people should not be rewarded for their actions. They should have stayed in prison, but Trump let them out, and now the DoJ is doing something to put the cherry on that sundae. Good grief. One more time, with thanks to Raw Story:

Political analysts and observers were outraged on Tuesday after President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice moved to vacate the convictions of multiple people who participated in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The Associated Press reported that the DOJ had moved to vacate the convictions of multiple Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who participated in the insurrection. The move adds to the growing list of more than 1,500 people who participated in the insurrection that the Trump administration has either let out of prison or stopped prosecuting.

That makes me feel oh so safe in my home. Those guys are pretty nasty. We’re not aware of any around here, but that certainly doesn’t mean they *aren’t* here, or we want to meet one. It’s unnerving, and all of us have only seen what’s presented on the news. We have no idea about anything else. Even the visual image is disturbing.

“The move to abandon the convictions represented a stunning reversal from the Biden administration, which hailed the guilty verdicts as a crucial victory in its bid to hold accountable those responsible for what prosecutors described as an attack on the heart of American democracy,” the AP reported.

“It’s part of the Trump administration’s continued efforts to rewrite the history of the Jan. 6 attack and downplay the violence carried out by the mob of Trump supporters that left more than 100 police officers injured.”

And left a couple of officers dead, remember. The whole thing was a dark, dark day in our history. A child couldn’t stand losing the election, so he started a riot to try to take it by force. We are very fortunate it didn’t. I know people who wanted to be there. Try to imagine our country today if Trump had managed to overturn it. We would be a lot worse off. It’s bad enough how far he’s dragged us under since he came into office the second time. Could he have wrecked elections enough to stay in office a third term? Anything is possible with this idiot. At least it’s highly unlikely we’ll have to deal with him in 2028. He’s fading every day.

Analysts and observers shared their reactions on social media. “Disgusting,” Miles Taylor, a former Trump administration official, posted on X. ////. “What’s a little sedition,” Tom Nichols, a staff writer at The Atlantic, posted on X. ////. “Sheesh,” Mehdi Hasan, founder of Zeteo News, posted on X. ////. “Everyone who voted for this is an enemy of the constitution and the country, I’m just saying,” writer Akilah Hughes posted on X.

I agree. This was a riot and an insurrection. No matter what Trump calls it, that’s what it was and is. Patriots, my arse. Violent, vile people attacking others because their orange tin god said the election was stolen. And they thought they were doing the right thing. How dense could they be? A *riot*? Over an *election*? Get real. Right now, the only good thing is that a lot of them served time. And some were convicted of sedition. But if they’re going to be out to run free again, we have something to worry about.

See you tomorrow!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
