Nothing is worse than being at the wrong place at the wrong time, whether you’re talking about getting struck by lightning or becoming the scapegoat for Donald Trump’s flaming incompetence in coping with the 2020 pandemic. Frankly, I think you might do better with the lightning bolt. Anthony Fauci had faithfully served in five previous presidential administrations before the Trump administration. He unfortunately became a right-wing villain. Now his name has come up with respect to a preemptive pardon by Joe Biden because the loonies are after him again, Rand Paul in particular.
John McCain despised Rand Paul. McCain went so far as to call Paul a Russian asset, which caused Paul to throw his mic on the ground and stalk out of the Senate chamber. He later said that McCain was senile and there should be term limits for senators. There should be some kind of limit on Rand Paul, that much is certain. He has targed Fauci for years and now he’s been quoted by Meidas Touch, “As soon as there is a new Attorney General, I plan on sending my criminal referral.”
Paul sent in a criminal referral in 2023, which fell on its face, but clearly he figures he’ll have better luck with a Trump-appointed attorney general. I wonder if Pam Bondi will go for something this crazy or will she shut Paul down?
Paul’s obsession with Dr. Fauci is motivated by the same mechanism as Nancy Mace’s obsession with transgender people and which restroom they use — angertainment. Speaking of Mace,

… Last time I checked, Americans can choose to believe one side over another when there are two competing versions of an event. Maybe some Democratic Senators disagree with that concept though.

I remember when Eisenhower was in office when I was a little kid. Television sets were black and white. Politics was a respectable field. We knew who our entertainers were and who our politicians were. Telling the truth and being true to your word were cardinal virtues. Maturity and dignity were important values, particularly in public life. Man, how the world has changed.
I wonder if Mr Paul’s neighbor is still available?
He seems to be the only person with any ‘cut-through’ with him.

The neighbor deserves a medal. Paul.had been putting his grass cuttings where he knew they’d end up.in in the other guy’s yard just to be stinking. He apparently enjoys taunting, threatening, and refusing to compromise.

Ended up saying “Senator”, (Paul), “You do not know what you are talking about”, Paul had obviously not referred to an actual expert in virus technology, and if he had, his note taking was, less than he should have taken …
The man has won awards for being the go-to expert in virtually anything to do with virus and its outcome as a pandemic … Trump was only worried about his numbers and sat his large ass on his hands until people were dropping like Autumn leaves into makeshift refrigerated semi trailers used as morgues … If only, he had put Obama’s lab and plan into effect at the first sign of what was to come, instead, he threw the whole plan, lab workers and their equipment away, because well, Obama roasted him at a dinner for the Media …
